Hello!

I'm quite new here, registered today actually. I was looking for some Honda NSR 125 specifications when I read somewhere that it does 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds. That sounds a little bit fast, doesn't it?

How does it compare with the Aprilia RS 125 0-100 km/h, the Aprilia is supposed to be faster since it has 34 hp and the nsr has 25.

I'm wondering because I'll probably get one soon.

Thanks in advance!

5 seconds derestricted, tuned up all to hell perhaps.

standard i would say 7 seconds. still not too shabby for a 125

As far as I'm aware, the RS, NSR and Mito all produce around 33bhp.

RS and Mito make 33bhp derestricted ad 14 restricted. They are both aimed at the 14 and 33bhp markets. the nsr is 14 restircted but around 23 derestricted. less powerfult han the other two, but far more reliable.

By saying standard, do you mean restricted to 15 hp? If it has 7 seconds restricted then it's really fast.

I've also heard from users that the NSR isn't that much slower than the mito's and the aprilia's.

standard means the normal bike, no restriction, no mods to it. restricted it will get to 100km/h fairly fast, nearly as fast as derestricted. the restriction really hits it on top end dropping the top speed alot, allthough it will effect accloration i wouldnt have tought by a truely massive amount, perhaps 8 seconds restricted?

Yeah, that's true. I've seen 8 seconds on a restricted NSR 125 which is also quite fast for me, but one second is alot.

Edit: What does a dirtbike get 0-100 km/h? For example, the Honda CR 125.

The CR125 is a completely different machine to a sports.
For one thing they put out about 41bhp. They will scream up to 60mph in a couple of seconds but seing as they're designed for bottom end power, they will top out at around 75-80.
I can see a CR hitting 100km/h in about 5-7 seconds, if they can get that much power down before flipping it!

Well, since you have to shift more gears ( 5th gear or something) it looses a lot of time until it hits 100 km/h while the NSR is in the third gear or something.

That's at least what I think.

I have another question... I didn't want to start a new thread.

Do you guys know what the Gilera Runner 180 cc FXR does in 0-100 km/h?

Hi

The hot 125s will manage 60 in about 7 seconds in full power form. The NSR is a bit down on power and heavier compared to the RS, but it is also a bit lower geared which will make up for that.

The RS in full power form with the 34mm carb will manage around 28~29hp at the rear wheel. The NSR is around 4hp down on that.

All the best

Keith

But the Honda NSR 125 should take the Gilera Runner 180 cc FXR right?

Hi

Probably not for the first bit, as the Gilera is a twist and go which makes it a doddle to get off the line quickly.

All the best

I searched on the internet and the Gilera does 11 seconds 0-100 km/h.

So the NSR is a tad faster Very Happy

But as you said, it ain't that hard to get a good launch.. twist and go but the NSR goes past it anyways.

The reason that I'm asking is because my friend has one and he thinks that it's the fastest of all 125 cc's... he also says that it has 5,1 seconds 0-100 km/h.

Now I can brag that the NSR is faster restricted!

Thanks everyone for the nice answers.
