I want to somehow wire my mobile into the car stereo, Just so i can play music off it.

Managed to do it easy enough with a Tape player

This works quite well. But there is no chance the tape player can go in the new car. As neither of them are mine.

So...could there be anyway to wire another head set into a cars' CD player?

Most CD players will have inputs in the back of the unit. Even some of the standard CD units have inputs. If it is not your car but you can get access to the back of the stereo, you could simply wire in the leads and hide them out of sight and when required pull them out.

do you know what type of stereos are in the car's.

Regards

Andy

Hi

I do know the model yes, It's a Sony CDX-CA600. It has some inputs on the back, Bus audio in, Audio out rear and audio out front. All of which don't mean a great deal to me.

Bus audio in is for External devices such as CD changers or MD changers. Audio outs are for a amp.

I am quite sure.

As long as you have the RCA input in the back.

Using the lead you have shown above it should be possible to wire RCA connectors on to. This will then be plugged in the Input RCA on the back of the stereo. Remember though that RCA are low level inputs and plugging in something like a MP3 player on full volume would not be a good idea. You should then be able to play using the head unit.

Thats what I think. I have fitted a lot of stereos but not attempted this. Did something similar using a Rca splitter to add a MP3 player on a stereo with a CD changer.

Regards

hope this is sort of helpful to you.

For sony head units you can buy an adapter that gives you a RCA Line in. I think its about £30 (not from halfords though)

Hi

Thanks for the help. I have been doing some reading and it seems like i need a XA-300 if i am to add any Aux device.

I had ago at just plugging into the rca inputs but no luck. Needs to be combined with the bus control, which is why i need that thing.

I first had a look at a XA-C30, I think this maybe what you mentioned Davo? But it's only compatable with another sony bus device.

May work out cheaper to buy a whole new stereo with a built in aux option.
