 |
|
Well i did it! 3rd time lucky and have mod 2 booked for thursday with a lesson on tuesday. I say lesson, they booked a full day which is a bit too pricey ontop of the mod 2 fee. So i'll try and cancel and just get a few hours to get used to the routes and general practicing.
Any tips to look out for with the examiner (Maybe little things they may do to try and trip me up (not literally ofcourse, as that would be dangerous! )
So yeah! soon to be gone L plates hopefully

One thing for examiners, Look confident but not too confident.
Look comfortable on the bike.
For example
Balls of feet on rests
Arms slightly bent
Looking where your going
And good luck.

Any info appreciated
Thanks |
They will only ask you to pull over somewhere they think is appropriate, so not a dual carriageway or somewhere like that. If memory serves, they pull you over at least twice - once on an empty stretch of road and once behind a car , I also got pulled over more than this for no apparent reason, so dont worry if they do this too. Remember to do PROPER over the shoulder checks before pulling off (not just life savers) and to indicate and cancel. Dont worry too much about the test, it is surprisingly quick and simple (or so I found), and I believe the adage that providing you demonstrate you are safe and confident, they'll get you through as long as ou dont do anything really stupid. |

Well, as per title, failed mod 2 but it really wasn't my fault! (yeah i know everyone says this but it really wasn't!)
We were going down a one way road, 2 lanes i'm in the left and stupid old biddy in the right hand lane (you may see where this is going) Currently stopped at traffic lights, they change to green, i do my rear observation and away i go. Probably about 10 seconds after this and the examiner shouts CAR over the radio. For some wierd reason this old woman decided that she'd change lanes straight into me . Cant quite remember what i did ie. slow down or speed up to get away from her but i did anyway. Rest of the test was absolutely perfect and i am mega dissapointed to say the least
His reason for failing, and what he put on the sheet was change in direction Correct me if i'm wrong but surely its a good thing if i change direction when a cars about to hit me??? Isn't that what the swerve is all about . Its not like i made her change direction either.
He said i should have done a shoulder check, what! Do a random shoulder check when i'm not changing lanes or anything and look out for blind women?
Anyways, i am royally pissed off right now, yes, maybe i could have done something more but is it really worth a fail for someones else' mistake? Told my instructor and he said it may be worth appealing, would this be a decent option? somehow i think 17yr olds opinion against a qualified examiners won't really do much.
Any opinions appreciated
Rob

Ah another chester tester
I found that sainsburys roundabout alright tbh, amazingly the examiner told me to stay in the middle lane which i thought was odd . Did you have Ted for your mod 1?
What time were you there? My test started at 1, may have just missed ya.
Good luck with your mod 2 mate, Look out for crazy blind people outside of bill smiths
