Put the key in the non working ignition barrel, took it out ant the whole ignition barrel and shroud has come off, Turns out it's completely cracked on the base of it with bits missing.
Also, My engine makes a strange rattling noise when on idle, and vibrates just as bad as my old CZ at 5krpm and again at 7k...
I cant recall it doing this when I first got it, But I could be wrong. Listening to it, It sounds like the lower half of the cylinder... no air getting through, gaskets nice and seated... What could it be?

Evil noises from the barrel and vibrations generally points at a previous seize or wrong size piston. I haven't kept track of the history of this build, did you rebuild the engine recently?
If it has a balancer then that could be timed wrongly, if you've fiddled with it.
I would expect you either fitted a rebored barrel with a standard piston, or cocked up fitting and snapped a ring, or adjusted the oil pump badly, or a combination of the above.
Wait until others reply before you pop the head and barrel off. This is why you shouldn't spend all of your money on tuning parts.

You said non working ignition barrel - does this mean you have another working one? Second hand one off ebay should be very cheap, a pattern one is only about £30 new. Old plastic can fracture, I assume the mounting lugs on the barrel have broken, not the thing it mounts onto (clocks I assume). Mounting lugs could be bodged back on and reinforced with some araldite, if you do this make sure the surfaces to be joined are perfectly clean with the mating surfaces roughened with some sandpaper. Make it messy to start with using plenty of araldite (red), then leave for at least 24 hours to fully cure, preferably in the house, before tidying up as necessary.

Don't get rid of it, you'll never make these mistakes again. Unless you're a total idiot.

Could it possibly be anything to do with you riding it well beyond the redline in top gear yesterday?

I'd whip off the alternator cover and see if there's any vertical play onthe flywheel.

If there is, your main bearings are shot.

You could replace the ignition switch with a 6-pin, 2 position flick switch.

It'll very likely be piston slap. Mine has been rattling away for...gawd knows, something like 25,000 miles and it doesn't get any worse Laughing Power is down but it still starts first kick and does 70 in favourable conditions, so I'm just going to keep going.

Don't worry about vibes. It's common. Only worry if the motor emits horrific noises or the whole plot just ceases to run.

Ignition switches are easy to come by. Even new they're only about 20 quid or so. Might as well do a proper job now Cool

It won't be the main bearings. RXS mains are completely indestructible.

Are RXS main lubed by the premix or the gearbox oil?

I've never seen a new RXS switch for less than about £17.

Right, been off work ill, so had no internet access lol
Igition barrel I remedied, by removing the lock cylinder from one barrel which the mountings were fine on, and fit it with the lock I have the key for =P
After speaking with someone who used to own one of these bikes he said he had the same noise occur twice in different bikes, One caused by a bad piston ring catching on the ports, and the other caused by a wondering circlip causing a gudgeon pin to rattle about.
Bike starts fine, Idles a little strangely...
I had her idling smoothly below 1000rpm 2 days ago, Sounded like she constantly wanted to stall! lol
Ignition barrel remedied all lights problem, and indicators not working was caused by a rusty switch, Which a good clean remedied!.
So now, All she needs is a new front indicator (One is bust inside)
a new footrest and a kickstart that doesnt fly out whilst riding would be handy Wink
Starting to get used to the RXS now. and sorry to say Cows, but the light-switch power is getting boring... VERY fast! I'm starting to realise the importance of "Useable torque" (for daily commutes). Something this bike lacks lol.
Gotta get me an RG500 for kicks, and a suitable jap-4 for commute... =P

The RXS was never meant to be exciting, it was designed to do a job. It does that job extremely well. Next thing you'll be wanting other extravagant luxuries, like brakes and lights Wink

Actually, ever since I cleaned my contacts, and fitted some higher wattage bulbs my bulbs seem a LOT brighter! My tail light doesnt flicker like a candle, it stays bright, even at the lowest idle, Brake light is nice and bright, Sidelight is nice too, Headlight is just as dismal as usual due to.... well... Being an RXS... But yeah, I'm thinking about upgrading to Rubber V brakes from a BMX, Increase braking potential by 300%! Other luxuries that I would like include a horn that doesnt sound like a jar lid button popping in and out, and bolts that come different to the standard colour that looks convincingly like rust Wink
