Hey there,

Currently using my 3 years NCB on my NC30 however looking to purchase a second bike.

Is it possible to use your NCB on 2 separate policies?

I can add an R6 for £592 but they will only do it TPFT, and thats for the remaining 8 months on the policy.

However,

Through a different company I have been quoted £450 TPFT and £650 FC, obviously for 12 months - however, that means using my NCB on 2 different policies?

Do I have no choice but to pay the £592, or should I try ringing the company where I got the £450/£650 quotes and see if I can start a multi policy with them and cancel my existing one?

What would you do??

You can't use your ncb on 2 different policies.

Phone the new company and ask them about having the multibike policy and if it's good, cancel the other one.

Oh, and check how much it'll cost you to cancel. Most of the time they charge a £25 cancellation fee. But check if there's any extra costs.

Why not just start the R6 on a new policy without any NCB and then start earning an extra set of NCB?

As has been said, you can't use one set of NCB on two policies, but you can earn more than one set of NCB.

I for example have 1 year and 1 year 10 months NCB.

I find that pretty pointless tbh. I would've thought you'd end up paying more. Confused

What, so I will have 2 years NCB in May yes, so if I take out a policy on my CBR600fy for say 400 in May, could I also get a CG125 (would be able to get a shit non runner for free off my uncle) and insure that for probably £100, for the year, then come next May have 4 years NCB and be able to insure a gixxer 1000 a lot more easily?

I doubt I'd get insurance on the R6 with 0NCB. Can I take my 3 years off my VFR and put them onto the R6 policy?

I was under the impression this is allowed.

Can anyone confirm or deny whether this is possible (with evidence)?

I dunno about anyone else but I've got 3 bikes insured on the same policy from CIA and I use my NCB on the policy as a whole-it's something like £180 for me to insure my Tiger 900, R100RS and my Enfield so it must affect that!

When I got the tiger there was a month or two left on my other policy so I just used ebike to insure it for a month using a 0ncb, worked out a wee bit more expensive but less hastle in the long term.

I could insure both my bikes separately for £400, try and put them on a multi-bike policy and it goes up to £1000 Rolling Eyes

So I always have separate policies if I have two bikes.

If you could add no claims together, then everyone would just get ten one year TPO policies on a c50 stored in Scotland, add them together at the end of the year and use the now ten years worth of no claims on a turbo Hayabusa.

They inure the car. Not the person. There was a guy I used to know who had a Ford Mustang V8 at 16 and his insurance for the year was $600. And he complained about it. Neutral

Also, if the car is insured, anyone can drive it, as long as you have permission from the owner/insurer AND you have the correct licence.

Which is why insurance tends to be much much much cheaper. Considering they were quoting me 1.4k TPO only on a 1.3 Ford Escort at 17/18

When I went over to Miami I was able to drive my Dad's BMW M3.

Like in Gran Torino, how the kid was able to drive the car, as Eastwood clearly had the car insured and let him drive it.

At least that's what I think Laughing

It will affect. Not sure how but it does affect it.

My dad explained that if he was to get a speeding ticket it would go straight to the insurance and it would go slightly up.

I don't know the full workings of it, I jut know they insure the car which is why it's much cheaper and 16 year old kids get to drive nice cars because they have a licence and their parents insured the car dead cheap.
