Hello all, am getting to the stage with my bike where i soon want to mot it. At this moment in time it has no mot or tax - sorn.
How do i go about insuring it ? I want to phone up my current insurers i have my other bike with and ask if i can have this bike added on, but surly needs to have mot etc to be insurable ?

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Rocky

No, you don't have to have MOT to have insurance - however you of course are only allowed to ride it to/from the MOT station.

Yea.
You're allowed to ride it directly to and from an MOT centre (or a place of MOT repair I believe) without tax or mot. Best to make sure you are booked in with your reg plate just in case you are stopped, so you can prove that's why you're going there.

Yes they often do, however often it can cost more than just getting a fresh insurance policy.
Give them a call but also get quotes on the bike insurer (remember to give fake contact details as they WILL spam you.

Ohright, just was thinking of getting rid of both bikes September time as that's when current policy runs out and also the time when i will do my direct access. so will have to weigh up a years policy over a add on onto current. but then i spose if i got ayears i could always change it to a different bike.

Thanks
Rocky
