Disastor First Ride

I done my CBT yesterday and went for a ride on my RXS when i got home. I was at a set of traffic lights at the front and when i went to pull away i stalled! I kicked it back over and stalled again, it happened about 4 times and in the end i thought something was seriously up with the bike. I pushed it on to the pavement and my mate who came up behind noticed i had a flat back tire. I was about 4 miles from the nearest petrol garage and theres also a bike shop next to the garage. I gave my mate £20 to get me something for a puncture and half hour later he comes back with a bottle of this green stuff called slime. It cost a tenner and when i was reading the label on the back it says i big letters FOR TUBE LESS TIRES ONLY lol. He went back to the bike shop but it was closed as it was now 6pm so he goes into the garage and buys some tire weld. By this time i had pushed the bike into a lidl car park and went inside to have a little look and i saw a foot pump for £5 so i thought why not and thats what got me home in the end. Also i was so wet as the rain was so heavy, i felt like i had jumped in to the sea or something. But it was such a great little experience for my first time out on the road lol. I sorted ot my puncture first thing this morning and i was out all day long.I just cant wait for tomorrow morning now!!

Haha quality, i chucked my bike up the road on my CBT...quality first biking experience that was. I did however LEARN not to use the front break on a corner at 20mph in the pouring rain...

sounds like a similar experience to mine...was round at a friends house - went to leave at midnight & the tyre was flat! last thing i was expecting and i had no breakdown cover. was 10mile from home

buy breakdown cover! for £30 its worth it

who knows when or where youll next get a puncture

Always check tire pressure! Ideally before you even set forth.

The RXS are older bikes so you expect to have more stuff go wrong than a modern CG but that's just plain unlucky... I've owned mine for approximately a week now and have spent most of it cleaning it and ironing out various kinks. Should start an Essex RXS club or something I might not feel so much of a prat being 6ft1 and in full textiles on my little smokey death trap

In all seriousness though, I love my bike more every day I own it as I develop my (admittedly still limited) skills and iron out kinks.

Yeah it was a good experience lol. Today i went down to the ace cafe from essex which was really good fun. I was on my little RXS and my two mates was on 125 runners, before we left we met up with a couple of mates who also have runners so there was four of these shinny new scooters and theres my tatty little RXS. I had a few troubles today though. I lost all power about 5 miles from home. I pulled over and tried to pull away but it kept dying.I left it for about 5 mins and then it was fine again. Then on the way home later it started to happen again so i went down a gear and it picked back up? Im going to post a thread in the workshop to see if anyone has an answer. Lol. But i have deffently got the bug! Iv got another little mission planed for April the 5th, Ace cafe are doing a run from the cafe to Southend so im going to either ride to the cafe and the back to Southend or just jump on the A127 near me and join up. Anyone up for it?

My first ride I rode the bike for less than five miles on the way to the garage to get the carbs cleaned.Then disaster struck the crabs gave up and I ended up pushing the bike 15 or so miles.

All the trouble I've had with my first bike haha no idea way I like bikes still to be honest.

first bike ridden 22 miles pushed 60.
