Wotcha.

This morning, I made my first trike ride since the accident five months ago. OK, so it was only around the block, but it's a start. The next milestone will be getting on, and riding a solo bike.

Hmm - I have to say it's my current injury.

On Halloween I was riding back home when a kindly car driver turned right across my path. Luckily the car just missed my front wheel - the next point of impact was my left knee. This had the effect of trying to push my leg out through my arse - making quite a mess of my pelvis in the process. Just for good measure I also aquired a rather nasty wound to the same leg. One rebuilt pelvis later, and a nifty skin graft, followed by three months lying on my back . . . and I'm now back home. My left foot has no upward movement - so that's any bike with a left foot gear change out of the question ( Drifter & MZ - the Guzzi, Enfield and BSAs are right foot shift )) Still can't walk. Can't ride a bike. I can't even sit on a normal toilet ! I can just about climb on board either trike but can't actually get my foot to go where it should.

Ah well, these things are sent to try us. I hope to be back up and on the road some time this year . . . . but don't hold your breath.

Ironically, his last post before the gap in postings, was a thread on the menace of car drivers pulling out in front of bikers.

Wotcha.

The bike, a BSA 350cc B31, came off a lot better than I did. Petrol tank and headlight are both beyond repair. Footrest, brake lever, seat and shock covers are bent but salvageable.
Ah well - nothing that a bit of time and money won't put right.

Pleased to hear you're up and around, I was talking to John and Wendy on our rally and asked how you were, they explained about your foot and the problems you're having so I hope you're on the mend and get back to some sense of normality soon mate, I'll see you when I see you... Thumbs Up
