Right, I want some of those levers from China but that stupid switch underneath the clutch lever means no one does them so the only way is to loose the switch.

In dummy terms How can I by-pass this switch without hacking it to pieces?

It will either be a 'push to make' or a 'push to break' switch. One allows current to flow when the clutch is pulled in, the other stops current flow. Normally you could easily find out what it was with a volt meter, but if you don't have one just remove the switch and try making and breaking the connection until you decide which way you want it to be permanently.

It'll more than likely be a push to make, so just remove the connectors, chop them off, solder and heat shrink.

Or, you could get a couple of male spade connectors (I'm assuming the switch will use spade connectors), fit the spade connectors to a little piece of wire and plug it in to either end of the wires that run to the switch. This way if you want to put everything back to original, you don't have to chop anything up.

I know it doesn't apply to your situation, but just a note to anyone reading who is contemplating doing this on a fuel-injected Suzuki (GSXR, Hayabusa etc). By-passing the clutch switch will invoke a neutral map making your bike run lean in the upper gears and will also give you a lower rev-limit.

Hi

How does the switch sit? Would think that getting it the lever to connect with the lever is simple compared to designing levers to fit

All the best

There is a small switch mounted on the handle bar side and the lever has a block which extends down so when you pull the clutch the block presses the switch Thumbs Up

I know a guy who has just mounted the switch in front of his bars and when he wants to start the bike he holds it in with his finger.

The switch doesn't have to be pressed down to start the bike

Rac3r, if you go get these Trak Tech levers then I have some gold adjusters for them you can have. They come with red ones and I know how much you love your bling. Laughing I bought them for my old bike but never got round to fitting them.

Just let me know.

Thumbs Up
