hi
this is my first post here, i'm hoping someone can help me out or point me in the right direction
as the title i've got a '96 thundercat, the problem is it wont start i haven't used it since last summer but have started it regularly throughout the winter and last time (about 6 weeks ago) it was absolutely fine.
when i push the start button, rather than turn over the engine it makes a loud clicking noise, if i hold it it for a while, 5-6 seconds, the clicking stops and then it sounds like something is turning ( a bit like holding your finger on a cordless drill) but nothing is happening
i'm thinking that whatever engages the starter motor to the engine has broken
please forgive my ignorance, my mechanical knowledge is very limited and i'm purely guessing
am i on the right track or way off ????
thanks

Have you tried charging the battery?
I left my Thundercat a little too long (just starting it to play with various bits, but not actually going anywhere) and I ended up dragging my hubby out of bed at 0645 on a Saturday morning to bump start me
So, yes. Try putting some charge in the battery before you go for anything more serious!

Agreed, battery's most likely dead. Even if it still powers your lights/horn, there may not be enough juice to turn her over, so get your hands on a charger, and you should be sorted. ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,
