ok, easiet way to convert movies to iphone?

I am going on holiday and just noticed I have watched everything in my itunes library and its a long flight.

I have loads of films on my harddrive but not sure of the best way to convert them in a batch for the iphone.

I have used videroa before but found it unstable

Is there a click click job done piece of software out there that handles a variety of formats guys?

Convert them to .m4v then add them to your iTunes library. You may be able to add them to your library without having to convert to .m4v once on the library you can then select which films you'd like to sync to your iPhone.

I think HandBrake will convert most things into .m4v, I have only used it for DVD ripping but find it very good. I'd recommend it

Other solutions like iskysoft video converter, aimersoft video converter. Handbrake is ok, too. And you can google "video converter" for more choices. Just pick one that best fits your need.

You have a Mac running Logic Studio don't you? If so you can use Compressor which comes as part of that suite of apps to batch convert video. It has encoder presets for the iPhone. If you have more macs you can network them and get Compressor to distribute processing to them all as well - a la render farm.

Magid DVD ripper to rip any dvd to an avi - can then store on your PC and watch on PC (or xbox if you have it networked).

Then AVS Video Converter to convert the avi to ipod touch / iphone friendly format and size. You do have to pay for the AVS software but for a relatively small amount you have access to all their programs which are quite useful (esp the music editing / ringtone maker).

Takes about 20 mins to rip, 10 mins to convert DVD of around 90 mins.

Compressor is purpose made for batch converting large numbers of audio and video files. We have actually clustered together 4 Mac Pro's at work to use for converting tons of footage shot in HDV or AVCHD into ProRes 444 for editing (all of those formats are either bandwidth intensive or extremely CPU intensive), and they fly (32 cores of Xeon CPU power on the job). Takes a bit of learning but once you get your head around it, it's very easy.

I use Handbrake aswell for converting movies to PSP format, it is by far the fastest as it makes use of multi core CPUs, it also has batch operation so you can leave it on overnight and tell it to turn the computer off when it's done.
