I'm thinking of getting an Autocom kit for the Sprint. I currently have the Scala team set which is pretty good but there are no other inputs ( mp3, phone etc.)

What's the best model to go for for rider and pillion ? Also are they easy enough to fit ?

I went for the Pro Rider back in '08 as they were selling them cheap cos a new model was coming out. I guess which one you want all comes down to what you want it to do - eg. if you want Bluetooth phone stuff then go for a poncier model.

Easy to fit but you'll probably have to sacrifice your glove compartment (https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=156666&highlight=autocom+sprint).

Wouldn't bother with the PTT button, I removed mine cos it seemed really unreliable and you had to push it really hard. The vox is good enough that you really don't need it.

Autocom with tunes is the best way to travel. Cool

Not bothered about the Bluetooth, just so happens that's what I've got at the moment.

I see there's portable ones too that use 9v batteries. Anyone tried those or are they better hard wired ?

Seems like an awful faff when you've got an ever-recharging bike battery waiting to be used.

Aye, I suppose so. I'll have a look around and see if there's any offers on anywhere.

I bought the bottom of the range one that runs on a 9v battery, i also bought an adapter to plug it into the bike wiring loom so i can run it off 9v or 12v bike battery.

Its done its job so far so can't fault it!

So that would be this ? https://www.chainspeed.co.uk/products/Autocom--12-Volt-to-9-Volt-Bike-Power-Lead.html

The cheapest one with pillion kit is £99 so plus another £25 for the power lead.
The next one up is the 200 @ £164 for everything. Thinking

Yeah thats the one although i did buy the coms kit first but got annoyed with the battery running out half way through a ride, so i bought the power lead at a later date.
