..... finding out how to drop my rear wheel.

Went off to the local big car park to practise a bit for my test on Tuesday.... came home with a puncture in the back Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I'm at work all day Monday and due at the test centre Tuesday 9:30am.

So back wheel's in the car boot now and I'm praying the tyre place 5 minutes form work has one in stock and is open lunchtime....

Monday night I shall be mostly trying to get my wheel back in again (probably in the pouring rain Sad ).

Passed Mod 1 at 9 o'clock then waited for Mod 2 at 11.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I think I was lucky with my examiner - he had 2 easy chances to fail me, one in each Mod.

Mod 1 we went back in and he asked me how I thought it went and I said "That was a crap emergency stop". He agreed then ummed and erred and I laid it on thick about the new rear tyre and that I thought he wasn't going to put his hand up until after the 2 red cones (I was barely through the trap). I got a massive rear skid and still had the throttle pinned open Laughing Laughing He sucked his teeth a bit and decided that as the stop was actually short, straight and controlled (upright, at least Wink ) he'd pass it.

Mod 2 I was too busy watching traffic ahead and missed a 20mph limit Embarassed He said it was lucky the traffic involved wasn't going too fast(ish) and he told me he saw my speed going up to 26-27mph and was saying to himself "don't blow it now". No other minors at all though Smile

Phew.

I can go edit my sig file now Very Happy

grats, I also broke the speed limit in my test ( and had other minors ). In my case was a country road (limit 30), and I missed the initial speed limit as I had to negotiate two erratic cyclists. Once clear of them I accelerated up towards 60mph but at probably just over 40 saw a 30 repeater.. thought I'd blown it but he carried on to the E-Stop and turn in the road ( do they still do an emergency stop out on the road?) so guessed I hadn't.

I got the impression from my test, and talking to my instructor, that bike testers are more often than not more lenient than car testers.

I'm sure it varies with test center, but does make sense. Unlike a car, you can leave a test center on your 125 and drive, anywhere, and on your own. (except motorways of course)
