Do I need to take a set of replacement bulbs with me, have a GB sticker on the rear, get headlight projectors and carry a first aid kit when you go to Europe ?

Was just curious as I heard you need these for cars, but I have nowhere to put a GB sticker on the rear of my bike and dont know where to get a set of headlight projectors for my make and model of motorcycle.

Sorry, if this is a stupid question. Rolling Eyes

Here's the compulsory equipment list from the AA site. The items marked with a (6) aren't required for motorbikes.

You can get a replacement number plate with the GB/Euro logo on the side. I bought 2 last September from ebay.
I took a full set of replacement bulbs, a high vis jacket and a first aid kit regardless of whether they were required or not. They took up little space in my tank bag and it meant that I was covered by the laws of whatever country I was in.

The hi-vis, first aid kit and spare bulbs are a legal requirement in some countries so worth taking as they are actualy useful too which is why they're a legal requirement. The GB sticker while it's meant to be fitted I doubt you'd hit trouble without it, or a Euro style plate with the GB on it is also adequate, I made my own stickers. The beam deflectors nobody seems to bother fitting, the area to mask isn't actually marked on your headlight anyway so it's trial and error, I didn't bother and nobody ever flashed me, I passed my friend on my first trip on the opposite side of the road and both our beams were just like they are driving on the left, not dazzling from the opposite side of the road so why bother.

I only had paper work with me. No vest, sticker, first aid kit etc. Oops!

I got a new number plate, although it is a bit larger. The rest of the stuff, first aid kit, light bulbs and HiViz vest I hid under the seat, and behind panels. Things I wont be needing can be pushed into all kinds of places. I dont want anything extra in my panniers as it gets harder to keep them in order constantly unpacking and packing. I put the documents in a plastic bag and tape then to the inside of my paniers, a copy in the other panier.
The secret is to be as uncluttered as possible and carry the minimum.
