On the way to work this morning, and wouldnt ya know it.... Manhole cover at a junction took me out!
No serious damage, just the fact that I landed in front of Rudeboy in his BMW!! was quite a nice bloke though, helped me up with the bike, and even offered me his mobile so I could ring someone! *shocked*
Anyone have an Indicator for an Aprilia RS125, which I can buy? ____________________ <<-- Most people are like slinkys, useless.. but you cant help smiling when you see one fall down the stairs -->> |

You have to watch out for those manhole covers. They roam the streets in packs looking for innocent 125 riders to attack...
Glad you got away with it. |

Unlucky mate, glad your OK and the bikes alright as well. Reminds me of when I so hilariously binned my old ped at the dizzy speed of 35mph. It was down a hill and it kept scraping along with more bits falling off until it got to the main road . I ended up rolling onto the pavement. It was then I realized that right behind me was some chav is a Renault 19, as I got up laughing he wound down his window and said "Nice one! That was a really great crash innit!" and burst out laughing. I have to admit it was quite funny, although I ended up spending 4 hours with brasso and wet and dry polishing the scratches out of the headlight lense, because I was too cheap to bother buying a new one! . I still dont know why it went down, It was wet but I wasn't cornering or braking, it just decided to have a lie down and down it went .

I'm glad you're OK.
You're right about these man hole covers. It beggers belief why they put them in the places that they do sometimes. The simple thing they could do is to cover them with asphalt. Certainly must be cheaper than relocating them.
I'm wondering whether I should petition our local council to do that. Otherwise, they're a real hazard. ____________________ Laugh!? I nearly bought a drink! |

Glad there was no serious damage
But manhole covers.... there is one corner in my village, it is a sharp bend, at the bottom of a hill, and there are about 5 manhole covers there, there is no escaping them unless you ride at 5mph and weave, I swear to god they don't need them all there, it is just stupid.
Great for traffic calming, well motorbike calming, but it really is a nightmare, nearly lost the back end a fair few times round that corner. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>
