Seen a 56 plate c6f model for £4000 with only 4k on the clock

Just looking for advice on the model and is this a decent price?

I had my heart set on a cbr (if you saw my other thread) but think this may be better value for money

Great, great bike.

I sold mine with 8k on the clock for £3,800 almost 3 years ago. It seems the prices have not dropped at all, mainly because until the latest 09 model the 05/06 636 was arguably the best Ninja 636/600 you could buy.

Looking around the prices seem to be about this price even on ebay/pistonheads.

With such low mileage this is nearly a new bike IMO and from the review on MCN I have heard this version is an awesome bike to ride. How is it for carrying a pillion?

ignoring the fluctuation in used bike prices, kwaks tend to depreciate more then the rest of the class, so although that is a good price iv seen them go for as little as £3500, with low-mid mileage (sub 10,)

i agree that the ch is arguably the best model ninja up until the latest,
saying that you can get used 07 models for couple hundred more if getting newest model if a factor in your buying choice

I plan to own the bike for approx 3 years and looking at prices feel I should be able to get a reasonable sales price in the future. Not too fussed about latest model as love the looks of this bike.

Anyone any ideas with pillion comfort on one?

if your looking at it with the price you can sell it on for in mind, it might be better to go with the honda, they hold there value like German cars

(eg if irc) A gent on here has just paid £5000 (shop knocked off £500)
for a 05 cbr rr

£1000 more for a bike that isn't a £1000 pound better if better at all
(imo the ninja is better)
on a older plate and with more miles.

like i said kwacks tend to deprecate alot

Its a great bike, better than the ones before and after, quality motor, and very roomy for a 600.

I'd suspect it would be pretty shit. Kwaks are widely recognised as the most focussed sportsbikes, which means that pillion comfort would come low on the list.

Add into the fact that it has the underseat exhaust, which may have slight heating effect on your pillion's bum, it's not the best choice.

The CBRF would be much better, I would think.

This is, however, not supported by ANY real world experience, more a summarisation of things I have read. Laughing

The CBR-F is very good to take pillions on. I did many times. Stick a Tribo seat on it and it's even better. Thumbs Up

Asked him and the reserve is £2200. Said that he will do it for that if it doesnt sell. You think it is worth that or too much for the model?

£2200 sounds better but your still looking more to what i class as high milage (for a sports bike).

The B1h/C1h are both renowned to be the bees knees of that era and are by far better (imo) as a sports bike than the A1p's.

BUT, that model will probably be better for pillions if that is your thing.

Its worlds apart from the C1H model.....

More like the CBRF ( alltho better imo) so better for pillions than the newer models.

I've got the 05 model and and happy as a pig in shit.
It is a bit vibey at certain revs and can put your hands to sleep at freeway speeds in about 10 minutes.
Although different weighted bar ends and grips can change this.
Mind you, being a short ass and sitting up near the tank ....well, it can numb other things too Embarassed

It is probably what some would call large for a 600 in terms of comfort and room but it's not to say you won't be ass up when riding, just not as much as some.

Have had several pillions but I try to avoid it where I can.
Have had birds on the back for hour plus stints with no issues.
I use a pillion belt though to make the reach a little easier.
Also the rack helps in this area too.
Re the heat issue, i stuck on an after market pipe and layered the undertail with heat reflective tape just in case.
No one has mentioned it as being even warm as yet.

You do get a bit of heat off the engine on warmer days but that's pretty much part and parcel of faired bikes I guess but I notice this a bit more around my ankles on hot days.
Living is Australia though, when I say hot I'm talking 30c plus days or there abouts.

It's now 5 years old and I haven't had any real problems with it but a dodgey tank of fuel and having to dump it out has left me with a permanent flashing fuel light. Sad Just need to get back in to sort it. So not a bike issue.

Do check if there is an after market pipe though that the FI light does not stay on. There is an exhaust valve set up on the standard can and when removed it needs a 'plate' stuck on the actuator under the seat to fool the sensors and the FI light staying on.
So if the light is on, don't panic. Check out under the seat to see if a plate has been fitted. You will see it move when the ignition is turned on.
It's towards the back in the middle.

All i can say is, anyone I've let ride mine absolutely loves it.
So I guess that's something.

Oh and don't plan on stashing anything under the seat storage area. There is FUCK all Smile

ooops PS

It's 636 baby not 600..... and yes it makes a difference Laughing
