Anyone got one of these? Reasonably priced at £85, 3 berth with porch, check the Flash Frame system though, that's what I'm talking about....!
https://www.slumit.co.uk/gobi3.html
Have done some googling and general view is that it is well made, good quality and functions well, but difficult to find a massive amount of info. Anyone got one? Tempted to take a risk and buy one! Pack size is quite big at 80cm wide but to be honest as long as it's not wider than my seat + panniers I'm not that bothered... and 79 cm is well within the width of my bike with panniers.
Really like the idea of being able to put up and pack up in a matter of minutes with no hassle! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

No, but I do have the Vango Storm 300+ which is a superb tent, easy to put up and isn't too heavy at 4.3kg and packs down no longer than the width of my panniers. I've owned mine for 5 years, and use regularly between May to October inclusive. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

It looks good, but in my eyes having the mechanism is just more to break. It isn't hard to put up a tent. Even my Dad's awkward Terra Nova Sola Minor doesn't to take that long to put. These self erecting ( ) tents are bulky or heavy in my eyes when a traditional tent will be smaller and lighter.
I am borrowing my brothers 2 second tent (3 person I think) this weekend, so if it stands up to the weather alright and is useable I could be converted. Although I have used it once and it was alright. I am only using it over the Vango because it offers more room and I am taking the Vango as backup. ____________________ Past: Honda x8rs, Honda City fly, Honda Hornet 250, Honda VFR750, Yamaha xt600e.

I have done a few hours on the bike and then a put a tent up. From Cornwall to near Preston. An hour to pack my bag and went camping with scouts and got wankered for 4 days straight. Shall admit to not being very up for drinking that first night.
And I wasn't exactly trying to be quiet, I am guessing I shall appreciated it more when I do some touring of my own. ____________________ Past: Honda x8rs, Honda City fly, Honda Hornet 250, Honda VFR750, Yamaha xt600e.

I probably should point out I met my girlfriend through Scouts. Its Network scouts and is for 18-25 year olds and we just drunk (well I do at least) and quite a few girls in it (and hot ones! and more importantly up for it). Should be 700 or so of us at a camp site in the lake district for 4 nights, I think it is great fun!
Anyway back to tents... ____________________ Past: Honda x8rs, Honda City fly, Honda Hornet 250, Honda VFR750, Yamaha xt600e.

I bit the bullet and went for it.. got a 3 berth slumit gobi 3 (with porch) on its way to me should be here monday or tuesday so will update on quality, ease of use etc etc when it arrives. Off on a 10 day trip next weekend so will have a thoroughly good testing of it then!
I bloody hope it was worth the money anyways!!!! Couldn't really find any reviews of it on the internet so it's a bit of a "blind" purchase which is unusual for me. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |
