Reccomend me some mods

Just bought a CBR 929 and it's almost completley standard bar a carbon hugger.

Looking for a Tail Tidy, End Can and DB screen.

Anyone got any suggestions of the best ones for the blade?

Bagster / Baglux tank cover, look ace and stop you damaging the paint.

You can buy them through Hein Gericke, they'll order it in for you special.

Other common mods would be braided brake lines, small indicators and a sweet sounding exhaust. I've just fitted braided lines to my bike, and tbh I'd say don't bother and avoid the cost / hassle. Again, regarding indicators, I think the standard one are fine, an easier to wire up that cheap aftermarket ones with stupid bullet connectors.

Do you do alot of riding at night? If some, maybe upgrade your headlight bulb? Philips make some good bulbs, namely the Xtreme Power bulbs, which they now do as a bike specific bulb labelled "XP Moto" which is th same bulb, but sold single instead of in a pair. Got mine from PowerBulbDirect through ebay.

If you plan on taking a pillion, Tribo seat covers are ace, stop their arse sliding forward off the seat. If not, how about a solo seat cowl?

Ooh, you could fit a double bubble screen?

Plenty of things you can do, but don't go mad! It could end up making it look shit. And whatever you do, hang onto the standard parts!

Here's a couple of pics of my bike with the tank cover. It looks a bit wrinkly there, but that's only because the pics were taken just after I'd finished fitting it. They soften up and hug the shape of the tank beautifully after a short while. I scratched the shit out of my tank in the first couple of weeks of owning it, and think the little stick on pads look shit, so this was a good solution

Hmmmm, not really digging the tank cover, on a Triumph Tiger it would look OK but not on a sport bike.

All of the mini indicators I have seen so far look pretty poorly made, can you reccomend any good ones, same goes for the DB screen. On my old bike I had an MRA screen which was good but looked a bit ghey as it was all funny angles.

Can anyone reccomend a tail tidy.

i would do the following:

rim tape (maybe red or blue)
sporty / funky looking cluth and brake lever
mini indicators
LED brake light
new exhaust silencer (don't know much about them so can't judge) - but would look for something that looks carbon fibery

I'd put on:
New levers (I'd go for Trak Tech levers)
New exhaust (I had a Fuel Exhaust on my CBR600F and have a BlueFlame on my RR)
Tinted screen (Have a look on www.intobikes.co.uk for that)
And maybe some LED indicators or tail light.

I have a tail tidy / undertray on my R1 that has the indicators built in which might be an option, not sure if its available for your model or not
Also I like the look of the stubby exhausts which might look good, if not then Micron, Akra, Yoshi, Blue Flame all do end cans for your bike. As someone else said, maybe look at replacing your tyres too if they are either worn, mixed types or are touring tyres.

Mods are as follows

Micron End Can (whatever cheap can you can find on ebay to junk the light but quiet aluminium can) (£60 from ebay)
PCIII - That'll sort out the in-town glitchy 1st/2nd gear fuelling (£120 used from ebay)
R&G crash bungs - because the bike already got knocked over when it had the DHM bungs so i replaced them with R&Gs (£60 from ebay)
DB Screen - Came fitted with the bike
Aftermarket Undertray (came with the bike)
Aftermarket white hugger (came with the bike)
Aftermarket pillion seat replacement (came with the bike)
H7 4000K HID kit - £30 from ebay (HID's direct i think was the seller)
LED Clear rear lens (ebay germany £40)
Acumen Cat 3.1 Alarm (got it free because my 1020 alarm packed in - originally £40 from busters)
LED flushmount + LED flasher relay + rear LED indicators + connector adaptors (£50 on ebay - chinese sources)

If you have any questions relating to 929's, I'll do my best to answer them. Generally, the problems I had with mine were

Corroded cables - caused my bike to break down after an earth fault
Headbearings - next time you have them replaced, substitute them for needle rollers to stop it from wearing too quickly
warped discs - I've got galfer wavys ready to be fitted. I spent too much time riding in the winter before I had enough time to clean out the pistons and pads! by that point it was too late and the discs were warped!

A 954 tail is totally different - they come with undertrays and tail tidies as standard.

Stick to your original plan - a DB screen, end can and tail tidy if you must. Keep all the original bits. The 929/954 are becomming pretty 'classic' as the last of the Baba bikes, and originality is where it's at. Avoid the tacky bling.

Why don't you just get a hacksaw and file it down if you want to get rid of the dustflap. Unlike a 954 which has a factory fitted undertray, the 929 contains the mounts for the seat lock and indis.

Alex's point is a VERY valid point. Mine's been molested to my taste however.

A PC III IS a must. Even on a standard can, MPG got upped from 35 to about 40 so it's a worthwile investment. It'll make it run smoother for a start.

If you want to get rid of the OEM crash bung indicators but still want the honda authenticity, swap them for the 954 ones. They're thinner in profile but make it less tacky than mine.

I will keep an eye out for a Power commander but I am happy with the bike's fuelling even around town. I test rode a couple of bikes before this one which were a bit snatchy but this one was a lot smoother. Maybe it has just been serviced better.

I had an SV 650 before this and that was snatchy as hell at low speeds so even the bad ones were better.

Will have a look at butchering the standard mud guard. I have seen a couple of other bikes that have had this done so will check them out first.

Was thinking of getting a steering damper as well.

Will also be taking it to a suspension specialist to get the bike set up right. Anyone know of any in the Midlands?

K-tech in coalville but I've never got a reply from them when I asked about getting my suspension tweaked and suited to my bodyweight... and then I fettled with the suspension on my own accord.

Unless you're seriously chucking the bike around corners, and not getting it stable on the power, don't bother with a steering damper. It doesn't really need it since it's pretty neutral.

Get the bike to standard settings suspensionwise. Find a stretch of road which you know pretty well and keep a screwdriver under the seat. Tweak it about until you're happy with how it handles. It's pretty neutral to begin with so I've softened it up for the road so that it handles and rides the way I like.

I find the front end gets really light and when accelerating on a bumpy road it bounces around all over the place.
