Just wondering ha anyone used these guys?https://www.lonsdalebikes.co.uk/ Basically i took my bike down on the 4th of March to have the frame looked at after september 2009's crash on my Hyosung, now on the 10th of March they contacted me saying the frame is ever so slightly off and they would be able to repair it and for the cost of £500 including stripping the bike down etc.
Now i have contacted them every tuesday since the 10th of March and have been told its not ready yet, ring next week etc

Now its been a month since i dropped the bike off ad i still have not been contacted. Just wondering if i'm havin the piss taken out of me, because surely it doesnt take this long to do the work. Me and a mate have stripped a bike down to its frame withing 4/5 hours, replaced the engine and put every thing back on.

So wondering where do i go from here with them?

bit of a piss take as you can get your frame straightened for alot cheaper, was quoted £390 for forks, frame and front wheel on my CLR125...and you might get it cheaper than that!

What Hyosung is it?

Also if you supply a company with just the frame, the Hyo Comet/GT125/GT125R is so easy to strip down, you could do it in an afternoon.

I would have stripped it for you for £200 jesus, £100 would have been enough lol.

I'd say you want it back how it is, fully built... it might be slightly out, but getting it done by some company who doesnt screw you around is your best bet.

Also.. shop around...as £500 is expensive, they usually just jig it..

Theres a place in Bolton who used to work a Rivi Barn motorcycles and have a place in Farnworth, they have a jig, so should of took the fucker there.

Not too fussed about the price really, although i now know its a rip off, but its the timescale of the job. Mum's fella has said, give them till Thursday next week and then say you want it back and take it somewhere else.

i guarantee if you go and collect it, the work will have ''just been finished'' and you owe them £500.

the bike will look identical

because they wont have touched it.

you fucking mug. never take it to anyone unless you know whats wrong. if you cant see its bent, it isnt bent. they only check wheel alignment at an MOT and thats all that matters.

Its bent, because i took the forks out myself and they were checked and are straight. its not off by loads the frame but enough to warrant it being dangerous to ride.

Ive ridden with a bent frame..obviously stupid on my part..but if yours is only slightly bent.. its fine!

I'd go down there, demand that it is done, check it before you even move it from the workshop.
If they havent touched it... come back here... call trading standards and rape their asses..

Well this is how it looked after the crash, wheel shoved back and to the right slightly.

Well if it is, and they are charging me for a frame jig, they will be getting a blasting. It wasn't a heavy impact, probably 20 mph max and it maybe Korean but i cant see the frame being made of cheese.

Sorry to revive this:

Used lonsdale bikes to get my Hornet fixed after it gave cartwheeling a go when i ran out of talent. (bent frame, destroyed back end, smashed clocks)

No complaints with them at all. They were slow at sorting it out, but as I had a broken shoulder at the time it wasnt a problem for me.

Spent the time shopping around for cheaper parts as well (700 quid for clocks at honda, got some for 250)

Maybe a little expensive, but insurance certified so peace of mind IMO

Also picked up from home and dropped off when completed.
