If I were in your position I'd get a 50cc bike. Will give you the opportunity to get used to gears and probably be a bit quicker than a ped. Can't think of any model numbers off the top of my head though (except an FS1E ) ____________________ Riding: BMW R1150RT `02 bought mildly crashed
Fixing: Also the BMW as I get less broken bits
Gone: ZZR600 '00, TRX850 '97, RXS100 '93, JS125-6B '07, BMW R1100RS '93, Kawasaki ZX-6R-J2 '01, Honda Bros NT400 NC25 '88 |

Hi,
I'm relatively new to biking myself and in October i bought a Yamaha TZR50. They are pretty fast and as mentioned they get you used to geared bikes. Other options could be aN aprilia RS50, MBK X-Power, Motorhispania RX50 or a Peugeot XR6, to name a few. RS50's are probably the most common geared 50's but IMO and although i'm biased, I would say the Tzr50 is more reliable and definately better looking than the RS50. I bought mine locally, a '53 plate for £800, so within you budget. Hope that helps!
All the best, Mike |

i have the 2007 CPI SM50 supermoto, it's awesome
they are THE best looking 50cc supermoto's EVER in my opinion...
they are quick when de-restricted, and also change the cocks and u can FLY past Every "scooter" that you see redlining it at 35....!
Only problems that i've heard is that they aren't too reliable, but thats bullshit.. IF YOU LOVE IT IT WILL LOVE YOU BACK!!!!
basically treat it well and service regularly, and it will be a fighter! ____________________ Max Weston - 1993 - Full time education

if only that was true for yamaha's sake.
like others have suggested if you plan to get a bigger bike after, start with gears as early as you can,
if you defiantly want a moped though it depends what kind of bike your after and what you plan to use it for.
if you want something to get you from a to b, id say a vespa,
: metal body work if you do ever have a fall, not very desirable to sticky fingered type, tons of spares
if you want something sporty looking,
an piaggio nrg, typh, zip,
gilera runner
aprilila sr
should fit the position ____________________ they say the good die young... i say we just live faster |
