Hello again,
I found this bike, a Jinlun Spartan 250cc and I rather like it but I dont know what its like so if anyone knows what its like, tell me please. I do have another option which was my first idea and that is to get a Yamaha Dragstar 650cc and restict it to 33bph. What do you think. If you have any other thoughts please let me know.

Yamaha Dragster if you really have too. Steer clear of chinese bikes unless you only have the choice of never riding again or a chinese bike. Even then i might debate the issue! Very Happy

As general rule if its chinese, your better off walking. The only exception tho this i've found is Kymco who make decent bikes. But then they have been at it alot longer. Korean stuff like Hyosung are okay too. I only suggest these two as your clearly tempted by the prices of the lesser known asian companies. Hyosung an Kymco stuff will be more expensive than the other makes you see advertising band new bikes for £1000 on ebay, but then you get what you pay for.

I agree with what others have said to a large extent i.e. stay away from shoddy chinese bikes.. But Jinlun from my experience are quite reasonable in quality terms, yes they're Chinese but the quality seems to be leeps and bounds above the rest, this is based on personal experience (Several mates own them) and from several reviews on the subject. Good luck and happy riding with whatever you go for.. Thumbs Up

I think in 5 years or so the Chinese bikes will be a major source of competition for the Japanese.

The company I work for is a subsidiary of a large Chinese chemicals company and they're now spending hundreds of millions in adopting western policies - quality, h&s, marketing, I.T., HR etc. Basically they aim to be world leaders in a few years time.
