Just thought I would post this as I have just started again for this year.

I was given this motorcycle 2 years ago, by my uncle who had owned the bike previously before crashing it and subsequently laying it up about 25 years ago.

When it came to me it was Seized had terrible wiring and generally was in a poor state of affairs.

I have since unseized it, and have managed to get the some of the electrics to work namely the lights.

Anywho, this topic is just somewhere I hope to chronicle its repair/rebuild Smile

Hopefully the pictures have uploaded

Should be interesting...

Are you going for a full restoration or just a "get it through an MOT" approach?

Just going for the pass the mot then go from there stage Razz

Most of the stuff is already there so no worries for missing parts except for the airbox etc which is missing the pipes that go into the Carbs, but pod filters should be okay until I can get that sorted.

Just when it comes to getting it looking nice will it start getting expensive. Razz

Next step is seeing if the engine is any good after being seized for so long, just need to change the fluids and check the gapping and we should be good.

Edit: and it has been rebuilt once in its life as the pistons are 0.5 oversize.

If you need any information about them or any parts, just ask, I restored an S1c a couple of years ago. Is it an S1 or an S1a?

Got a replacement coil from a gentleman from the triples club forums, plugged it all in just to make sure, still no spark Sad, after playing about with the points set the gapping and sanded the little bit of rust off and now I finally have a spark on all 3 cylinders

Me is Happy Very Happy Thumbs Up

A long time has passed, it still gets a spark on all 3 cylinders, it appears to fire for very short bursts which is understandable as it doesn't have any fuel passing through thanks to the leaky Fuel Tap, I cannot really give it a proper go until I get that sorted.

So progress has stopped in the short term until I source a new seal kit

Getting seal kits for that will be like finding hens teeth or rocking horse poo!
Is there an alternative?, like making the seals yourself?

Dont let this restoration die Thumbs Up Although, i dont envy you, trying to find bits for that!
