What are the rules about towing my pit bike with my Mk5 Golf, Regarding lights?

Will I need a lighting board? Or just a reg plate fitted at the rear most point of the trailer, Along with a red tail light, again, fitted at the rear most point?

AFAIK it depends on whether the vehicle lights can be seen when the pitbike is on the back of the car. If they are still clearly visible then nothing required - hence pushbike racks being mounted high up. If they are obscured in anyway you will need a light board.

I have a Dave Cooper rack for my dirt bike and bought a board from Halford for about £20. Didn't worry about the reversing light one, just the most basic.

Can't you just chuck it in the back with the seats down?

It will probably go in the back of my Golf. But it will mean semi dismantling the bike.
Draining all it's fluids because it will (and does) leak when it's laid on its side for prolonged periods of time.
It will also stink the car out.

It may be my only option at this rate anyway, I'm struggling to find a reasonably priced Tow-Bar for the Golf.

From my house, Which is in Maidstone, Kent.
To Stretton, Which is Leicester.

It's about 2.5 hours in a car according to Google Maps.

I've had a TZR125 in the in the Past.
I've also had Jim's ZXR400 in the back of my old Pug 206! Laughing

It's just the hassle.

My mates got an old LDV Convoy which I may be able to borrow.
Will see what happens.

Really need to get a tow bar on the Golf.
