For a mate.
He's just passed his theory, looking at bikes now.

So he used to have a XR125 4stroke. He wants something similar to a DRZ...he's not 100% on any bike right now.
He just sent me this link.

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000-KTM-ORANGE-SILVER_W0QQitemZ180489969054QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycles?hash=item2a060a5d9e

I dont know much about that KTM in particular, it would be his first big bike and he'd be using it reguarly for fairly short distances, he does want to go further afield once experienced.
So have any of you owned one of these, what is it you should be aware of and look out for?

Cheers Thumbs Up

Why not just buy a DRZ? Plenty about in S & SM models at good prices.

KTM is a better bike, but it will require more maintanence.

I had a KTM LC4 and in the 14 days I owned it, it about tore me in half from the crotch to the top of my head: The seat is like a fence post.

They're great fun, but not practical for every day use (although some will probably disagree.) Why not try a Dominator or a KLX/R, maybe even an old SLR650, not overly wild or crazy and the width of the seats can be measured with something other than a micrometer.

Thumbs Up

PS: My KTM was stolen, if your pal doesn't have secure parking (as in a garage) I'd leave it alone.
