Leaving your bike in the car park

After reading one of the other threads I was wondering how many of you take your bike to the cinema and leave your bike in the car park?

My mates always say 'why don't you just bring your bike?'

I just feel near cinemas there are always chavs hanging around and I'd probably miss the film worrying about my bike

Last time I did that it snowed 6 inches while I was in the film, bike was stuck in romford for 4 days untill the snow cleared enough to ride home.

Got no problem with it though, so much CCTV in the area.

Can't you park it on bicycle bays?


That's what I always used. But then again the parking people were ok with bikes parking on bicycle bays...

Never done it for going to the Cinema before, but have parked it in the towncentre several times and left it for a few hours with no real worries.

I always think leave it in a public place with people walking past and ideally near CCTV.

That way at least anyone half intelligent may think twice (risk vs reward), and any idiot should get themselves caught so you can arrange a good kicking..

Should be fine mate. North Finchley Hollywood bowl is too chavvy compared to most places. If you have disk lock, then stick it on, and park it near the closest CCTV pole. The chavs all get ushered away after 6 and have to wait until their mothers pick them up. I'm sure they've got bollards by the mcdonalds which you can thread your chain around? Sod it if you're slightly on the pavement!

I take the car. I don't want to spend the entire time worrying about chavs and drunks from the bowling alley next door fuckin' about with it.

Ermmm I have a few locks on my bike and ensure that when taking the bike I go at quiet times. But the carpark is also CCTV's to the Max.

I always park my bike where it is on camera and I always take a chain and lock and a disc lock (alarmed). If I worried about every eventuality then I would never have any fun on my bike.

My R1 was stolen from a car park with barriers, CCTV, guards patroling in the city of london.

Was not chained to the ground as there was nothing to chain it to.

If there is bike theives around at the time you park your bike and its not locked to somthing they will steal it!

You put a chain through the back wheel or front they just either place a skate board under the wheel thats locked to move it or two men just carry it out into their van.

It happened to me, the bastards!

I'll park the TDM anywhere, it's not worth much and not exactly a nickable bike, I'm carefully about the four but because I think it will be nicked but because I'm worried some little shite will vandalise it.

Never parked outside the cinema (I very rarely go), but I take the bike almost everywhere I go, and never had a problem.

I've always got a thick chain and a Squire lock with me, and always try to park in full view of CCTV, preferably in a M/C or bicycle bay

I take my bike usually. Its my only transport


If there's a high volume of people passing through people wont take any notice. With the bike park outside the entrance. Nothing to worry about.

I usually try to find a better bike to park next or near to. Makes mine much less of a target.


And don't most chav's "tea leaf" scramblers that they can rape and burn in some wooded area

Alarm on, Almax 3 securing bike to immovable object. Every time. Bike is a 15 year old CB500.

So provided i don't pee off someone who's got some really scummy connections, i'll probably be fine
