I'm wanting to head out to New Zealand next year some time. Maybe for a holiday or perhaps even permanent. Anyway I've been reading up about it and came across this one thing that seems to be different about how they drive compared to the UK. Can anyone give me an example of this below...
"When turning left you have to give way to any vehicles from the other direction who are turning to (their) right!" - Not sure what it's meaning exactly. Probably something obvious but that's all the web site said.
The web site also went on about New Zealand drivers are a bit crazy and road rage is the order of the day. Anybody had any driving/riding experience in NZ?
Lastly while I'm on about this, if anyone has any experiences in general about NZ they have to add, then feel free to comment. ____________________ Honda NSR125R -> Suzuki GSXR400R GK76a -> Kawasaki ZX636 B1H -> Honda CBR400RR NC29 -> Nothing |

Well I'm guessing it simply means if you wish to turn left and the car on the other side of the road wants to enter the same road as you....you have to wait and let them in first
Though I'm the same, have been toying with the idea of moving over there for quite a while. And would definitely wish to take my next vacation over there! for a start the scenery is simply spectacular and it's not like you'll be stuck for things to do providing you enjoy an adrenaline rush. ____________________ My Precioussss!, My Bikes, The Lord & Master, Canis Lupus!

I used to know a NZer who worked over here, he reckoned track days were really cheap over there.
But then as far as I know they're cheaper most places than they are here. ____________________ Gallery |

I've a friend who spent a month in New Zealand recently and she totally fell in love with the place. It sounds very similar to Canada, where I was for a few months last year, and if that's the case then it's an *amazing* place and you'll want to live there if you visit! ____________________ "The problem with the French is they have no word for 'entrepreneur' " George W Bush

My girlfriend has visited New Zealand, don't think she did any driving though. But will ask her about it and put some thoughts up.
One of the guys I work with in a race team comes from New Zealand too. I'll try and pick his brains about what its like to drive and live there.
Although, he moved to the UK to live and work... ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP

Well I'm not much of a club/pub goer over here anyway. That's all that most people seem to do around here. I've liked the idea of NZ since I was little. Something appeals to me about moving the furthest from this place as I possibly can. Not to mention how cheap everything is over there! ____________________ Honda NSR125R -> Suzuki GSXR400R GK76a -> Kawasaki ZX636 B1H -> Honda CBR400RR NC29 -> Nothing |

My cousin went over there for half of his gap year, he then went again for a couple of months holiday, he seems to love it there.
An old school friend and his family moved out there, and they love it.
While I don't speak to either of them much, and have no details, they all seemed to love it and have fun.
Although I prefer Australia, next trip there I might take a week in NZ to see what its like. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>
