After a longish ride , on the way home I sometimes have a stretch and ride with no hands .

The other day there was a police car behind and it suddenly occurred to me that old PC plod might take a dim view of this , so I resisted the urge Wink

Does anyone know what the law says?

Cheers Thumbs Up

I believe if you do it too long, then it could be classed as lack of control and or dangerous driving etc.

When I am bored behind traffic, and say there is traffic coming the other way, I do the no hands and move my hands in a kind of kids train impression. Peoples faces on the other side ftw

I'm with Allymoss on this.

Taking your hands off the bars and gesticulate in a haphazard manner is a great way to get a laugh.

I usually do it to adjust my gloves and that's about it, or if my hand starts going numb.

For extra bonus points, sit on the pillion seat at speed then take your hands off while overtaking cars on the motorway. Idly look around, then suddenly look at where the rider should be and act worried as just passing the car Smile.

Pretty sure it's like hands on your steering wheel for a car - so yes you can get done.

I've done the sitting on the pillion seat and pretending the rider has disappeared one in the past Laughing Not for many years, though. You would probably be banned for it if the cops caught you.

The pillion seat thing:

How would the Police explain it if they didn't have video evidence? Laughing

I'm too much of a wuss to ride with no hands, doesn't the engine braking pretty much slow you down to a crawl?

Not if you're in a high gear.

Shooting pedestrians with kill switch backfires are still the most fun to my mind.

Ride along until you get to your speed, hold the throttle constant and put the choke on. Acts like a cruise control Thumbs Up

Well, I grew some balls and rode no handed at the weekend. I didn't crash or kill any kittens.

Another thing to cross of the list. Laughing Cool

The first time I did this, I had my gf on the back and I was doing about 90mph, and needed to adjust my gloves.

The look on her face when we stopped at the next set of lights was priceless Shocked Laughing Laughing

Not skiied off the back, but often did off the side.
Considered a tad embarrassing in the work car park when you manage to knock it into neutral and find there actually are people around the corner as the bike falls over with you next to it.

I do this all the time I thought it was just something we were meant to do, my cbt instructor showed me how to steer with my knees lol.

I do it to sort my gloves, get money out my pocket for the tunnel and because sometimes I like a big ass yawn and a stretch whilst doing 60 lol.

I'm also one of them people that likes to drum with their hands on the tank, I do this a lot aswell.

Not while filtering, too busy looking out for doors opening, cars changing lanes without looking/indicating
