I have a bit of a thing for volcanoes. Have flown inside one whilst in NZ in a helicopter, done the whole mud lakes and geyser and Rotorura experience. Next is seeing flowing lava with my own eyes. I keep thinking about going to Ethiopia to see the lakes of lava there... but will happily see it anywhere in the world. It's on my list of what to do next.... Thumbs Up

Will try and get out to the US and visit Mt St Helens next year.
Always wanted to see a live volcano in action so will be keeping an eye out for potential places to visit.

I am so looking forward to dropping the word "Eyjafjallajoekull" into a conversation or a lesson.

Too fuckin many, knowing my luck. Rolling Eyes

The entirety of my boss's phalanx of asthmatic old crones will no doubt shortly be out in force, pestering me by telephone and lurking in outpatients, complaining that they can't breathe, and all blaming that bloody cloud.

Fuxache, we just got over swine flu, I'm only just catching up on the backlog of my work from that fiasco now.

It might rock but it's causing bollox with my trip, other half is pissy cos its all my fault a fooking great volcanic cloud has shut england and she's probably stuck in portugal for at least another week when i'll be off out of here in the morning heading for an overpriced ferry back to blighty.
Hotel reception now has a security guard because all the 'important' people "have to get back to england by monday" and are throwing toys out the pram when told they have more chance of flying their by flapping their arms
Would be funny if i wasn't here blagging the wi-fi and having to listen to their spoilt tantrums

Funnily enough, yesterday a film on the tv was "the devil wears prada", and prima dona fashion editor was making similar demands to be flown back despite there being a tornado.

Twats really.
I have lots of money and demand you arrange something
Hmm, well it's going to take 2/3 days across 1500 miles by taxi and it'll cost you a couple of grand and be dumped at the ferry port so you can have a cry at them and be told there is no room for 24 hours and all the hotels are booked.
Do they just not see that hundreds of thousands of other people are in the same or worse shit than they are and a meeting about last months meeting minutes really isn't fooking important

Today at work, I looked up and saw the clearest sky I will possibly ever see. Not one cloud in sight, no planes, no nothing. Looking at the horizon I could see a haze but not sure if that was ash or just the sky in general.

I was in Lestershire today and was amazed by the clearness of the sky. Long may Eyjafjallajökull blow out dust.

The last Eyjafjallajökull eruption lasted around 2 years from 1821 to 1823.
