Can anyone reccomend a cheapish tank bag I can get for the BdB next week... I quite like the Oxford one that I nicked off my flat mate, but he'll probably be using it and I don't really want to pay *that* much?

URLs for online shops would be nice, if possible Smile

Hi

We have the Baglux ones that use a harness on the tank and then the bag clips to that. No problems and they seem tough, and I really have seriously overloaded it loads of times

With magnetic ones be careful where you put you credit cards

All the best

The oxford ones my flate mate has got have a coupla straps (though he lost one) to starp around the bike as well. If teh cheap ones I'm looking at don't have and straps I'll at least try and tie it to the H-bar, though with a dubble bubble there's hardly and turbulance.

My rents bought me a wicked Richa bag. Magnetic but comes with shit loads of straps. In 3 sections. Map holder/magnets zips onto main bag with hard sides which zips onto the top bag. Think they paid around £40 from a local bike shop

Right G.....

I did a little bit of searching around Reading this afternoon.....

I went up to M&P's to have a look at their black £30 one ....which was basically....well...a bit nasty.
They also had a plasticy blue one there as well....and that was even nastier!
They were both 'even smaller' than a shoe box....and looked WELL cheap!
I defiantely was NOT impressed. Sad

So I took a wander down to my 'friends' at Motorcycle City Very Happy ...
The good news is that they have a 'special offer' on Riossi luggage things at the mo.
They are offering a Riossi tankbag, panniers, AND tail pack...for only £70
And are MUCH nicer quality as well.

As i couldnt afford £70, and the tail pack didnt fit my bike...i just opted for buying the tankbag alone (for RRP of £40)
....although the 'bloke' in there fancies me...so once again i got a discount ....and i only paid £32!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I would pop down to Motorcycle city this weekend G, coz i dont think you'll find a nice tank bag for £40. And the M&P ones were really bad.

I'm dead chuffed with mine! Very Happy
....although the bank balance is groaning once again! Confused Confused

vx

PS ..I also managed to get my phone unlocked today (finally!!) ,,, so i is doubley happy! Very Happy

that's the same luggage set I got (the £70) and it is really nice quality - it's just the oxford stuff with a different badge, cos all the booklets were oxford.

plus, you could sell any bits you dont want on ebay for a fair few quid I reckon.

hmmm.... me isn't too bothered by the quality..... Seeing as Tin's taking stuff by car I don't *really* need one now anyway.
And seeing as I don't have your charms Wink... it's gonna be full price for me Sad.

I'll have a look anyway... and if it is the same as the oxford will probably get it as my flate mate's one was pretty good.

Glad to hear you got your *shiny* toy working Smile

Hope your mum's birthday went well.
