Several people I know in/around Kimbolton/Northants area are being pulled by a Black Fireblade. Black leathers.

He's pulling people for doing 70 in an NSL which i find a little... touchy.

Be warned guys

Still pretty cheeky when I've hit 100 with a cop behind me in such a place on a bike safe course.

surely as he's not in uniform you could claim you didn't know it was a copper and not stop.

He has blues and twos on the bike, apparently pretty well hidden

As a fellow colleague (albeit 300+ miles away) of this black clad biker, i shall offer some advice:

Quote:
S.163 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 empowers a police constable in uniform or a traffic officer to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road.

(1) A person driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road must stop the vehicle on being required to do so by a constable in uniform or a traffic officer.

(2) Something about pedal cycles........

(3) If a person fails to comply he is guilty of an offence.

The offence is failing to stop for a constable or traffic officer in uniform, when directed to do so.

Does the fact he has blue lights and sirens on his bike make his easily identifyable as a police officer?

Think about it and ask yourself "Have i done anything to warrant being pulled over?"

If the answer is yes, then chances are - you only have yourself to blame, but it would give you an indication that he is legitimate.

If the question is about whether to stop or not, then i would advise doing it. But if you want, re-read the definition of the offence above and make your own mind up........

When I got pulled over by an unmarked Pan a few years ago, he had the word "Police" just above his visor - was only an inch long and you could only read it when stood next to him Rolling Eyes. That was black bike, black leathers and white helmet

I think if they are not easily identifiable as a police officer you have 'lawful excuse' to not stop, but he will just call for backup so...

Makes me glad I a) no longer have my CBR600 and b) no longer live near Kimbolton as that was my favourite area for a blast last year and I reckon I'd have been done by now with all the spare time I've had lately Shocked
