Enduroland this Sunday anyone?

Thinking of heading up to have a play at the Enduroland event this Sunday.
Anyone want to come play?

For those that haven't they lay out an Enduro style course - some are better than others as with real enduros, but you usually get a reasonable amount of variety in there. This is a new venue for them, but sounds ok - "Excellent x-country venue with woods, stream crossings and water meadows, also a chance to ride through the owners farmyard".

If you've never ridden off-road it's probably not for you, but if you've got a bit of laning experience you should be fine - worst case may push your comfort zone a bit .
Expect to see riders of all abilities there.

If the kdx didnt need a new chain i would of come but i doubt ill pick one up in time, really busy at the moment. Plus i suck offroad.

You thinking about going again in a few weeks?

Getting a chain in time wouldn't be a problem.

However unfortunately I'm carrying on up north after this time, if you also need a lift.

Will be doing some enduro stuff in May, but may well be a 'real' enduro rather than just a practice track - though not that it makes much difference, just means you get to see how many laps you did at the end.
Do plan to do a gingers trip some time as well though - presuming I get the 200 sorted I should have three working dirt bikes now.

Think that motocross track up the road have a hare and hounds on some time (they use more of the woods etc) which seems silly not to do as it's so close .

Its more fitting the chain thats the problem, then It needs an Mot for road use and im good to go

It'll be a split link chain - which takes two minutes to fit if that.

Even with solid riveted chains I would often take them off and put them back on between muddy rides so I can clean and soak in oil.

Yea, I'll hopefully be on a 200EXC - and for distinguishing methods, will be in a large white van .

Good fun - I started off rather slowly. Haven't ridden off road really seriously since last May, and only a couple of times since Spain in October - meaning that initially had that newb "it's all wobbly and I how can brake on all this dirt" road rider thing.
Got over that and found that I very far from 'bike fit' - seems my general fitness levels aren't too bad, but not used to proper dirt riding.

Eventually got into in the end - and thanks to Will for giving me the opportunity to find the limit of braking on a bumpy down hill while trying to catch up!

Course was ok, not as good as some, but had a reasonable variety (including riding through a farm house arch bit) and being quite short, was easy to learn.

Yea it was a good day, nice weather with quite a good 'natural' track. Standard issues of bike going together at 2am in the morning, then having to replace throttle cables ariving at the venue, thereby meeting G buying another pair of gloves. . .

Otherwise apart from getting a bit hot and losing my clutch completly by the end of the day, it was well worth it, some brilliant wood sections that just felt right! Time to spend some more money on the bike now i think. . .
