Nice bikes, nearly had one embedded in the left wing of the Golf this afternoon. If you were the rider of an Olive green Ariel Square Four this afternoon in Northampton, please bear in mind that your bike can't do stoppies, and as such you need to start braking some time before you sail out onto the roundabout whilst I'm on it.

Perhaps he's not been out on it for a bit and changed up a gear instead of applying the back brake?

And believe me kids, on a bike of that vintage, it's all about the back brake, you can stomp on that with your full weight which might stand a chance of slowing it down a bit.

Aswell as old riders should be retested at 75, old vehicles should be tested when 50 years old, and if they cant stop in a minimum distance, they shouldnt be allowed on the road.

I'm all for being unique but if we have MOTs to make sure vehicles are up to scratch, there should be a minimum stand for braking distance.

All the old british bikes I have ride (well the one Wink ) Accidently stamping on the gear level instead of the brake slows the bike down far more than using the brakes Laughing

Actually putting your feet down slows the bike more than using the brakes. Laughing

Only green Sq4s I know are a Healey with metallic Kawasaki green livery and matching nose fairing in an Egli frame with huge twin leading shoe brakes or my mate Pauls Iron head that looks far more traditional. Wonder what he was doing in Northamption Mr. Green

Just what this country needs. More red tape to replace human instinct. Thumbs Up
