UK roads will soon revert back to how they did with the advent of the 'motorcar', only the rich will be able to afford to drive.

And am I the only person who thinks that the money spent on research, would be better spent looking for the pieces of shit who actually perpetrate REAL crimes.

Raped an old woman lately? Here's a 3 month suspended sentence and a £20 fine, that you can use your benefits to pay for (we'll take 20p a year until you've repayed).

Doing 101mph on an NSL dual carriageway, no other traffic, absolutely no other offences, be them motor or otherwise? Here's a 5 year ban, 3 months inside and a £1000 fine.

This country is FUCKED.

There's no money to be made from nonces and rapists. It's all about ringing the cash registers, nothing else. Not far from here is a notorious accident spot, right on a sweeping bend where cars and bikes have left the road and hit the trees. So what did they do? Yep they put a speed camera a quarter of a mile away, where people are most likely to exceed the speed limit on a straight (and safe) bit of road Mad Parasites.

It is not about the money actually, in that speeding fines make sod all in the scheme of things not even 0.5% of tax revenues (tax revenues are around 550bn-620bn).

It is the civil service problem, in that the UK government has made so many non jobs that many council employees simply need to justify their job to make it be seen that they are doing something when really they are not.

And in doing so they actually prevent the real money making people from making money.

Once the massive austerity cuts (no choice) come in post election many of these regulations and laws will simply cease to exist.

Haha I saw a change enabling manager job the other day pays 32K from the job description I couldn't actually figure out what it actually did.

Those sorts are crimes are real tangible and difficult and or dangerous to solve, while speeding cases are incredibly easy open and shut cases, guess which ones the police go for.

BUt you are correct, there should be a weighting system based upon harm caused and points be allocated to police targets for that.

A cop is supposed to need X amount of points a month to his his targets based on harm you put victimless crimes like this at 0.05 points.

While you put seriously harmful crimes like murder and or rapes at 60+ points.

Just wait until those BAE overhead blimps are operational. The automatic numberplate readers will be able to log your whole journey times and compare with GPS positions realtime.

Ahh, the smell of police state gets stronger every day. Thumbs Down

0.5% of £600 billion is still about 300 million quid. But you're right about the endless civil service quangos, of course.

Erm no 0.5% of 600billion is 3billion.

1000 million = 1 billion.

so you are 2700 million out.

But whatever you do don'tthink about it too hard as in reality this means our national debt is:

£1,100,000,000,000

Why are they allowed to decline to comment? It's not a matter of national security so they should be prepared to answer any questions put to them, especially when it involves public money being paid to a private company to operate these trials.

The reg has more details on this, in that they said it was a commercially sensitive operation.

Who bets that various MPs by complete coincidence of course get jobs at such companies?

Unfortunately with all of this advanced technology in the hands of the aforementioned police state, it will be impossible for any external challenge such as a revolutionary movement or significant pressure group to exist for long before being crushed by the 'agencies of social control'.

You'll be pleased to know that oppression cannot last forever..

That is unless (Keith completely disagrees with this) the government start putting into place autoguns, and even then pulse laser versions.

In that the people who maintain the state apperatus sooner or later get caught up in the state apperatus and therefore their view changes and they are the ones with weapons.

Hence you have lets say a 7.62mm minigun turret guarding downing street. You need a bloke to reload the ammo and you need somebody to manufacture it. Said bloke seeing massacred civilians may feel guilt and decide one day not to load the machine gun with bullets.

Though if they put autoguns with lasers that need no ammo you are totally screwed.

they look weak as fuck.

a pair of side cutters and a hammer / chisel and you could destroy them in under 30 seconds.

also, their jubilee clipped on. if i lived anywhere near them, theyd have already dissapeared.

True if you wanted to take them.

Many of the speed warning signs around here don't work, namely because somebody has climbed all the way to the top of the lamp post the solar panel is located on and stolen it!
