There was no scientific malpractice at the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit, which was at the centre of the "Climategate" affair.

This is according to an independent panel chaired by Lord Oxburgh, which was convened to examine the research published by the unit.

It began its review after e-mails from CRU scientists were published online.

The panel said it would be helpful for researchers to work more closely with professional statisticians in future.

This would ensure the best methods were used when analysing the complex and often "messy" data on climate, the report said.

"We cannot help remarking that it is very surprising that research in an area that depends so heavily on statistical methods has not been carried out in close collaboration with professional statisticians," the panel remarked in its conclusions.

Seems like it was proper thorough investigation with a full spectrum of specialist and input from all people concerned and involved with the scandal.

Not really it is just that the word conspiracy has been denegrated to that of lunatics.

In that to conspire is simply for people to get together and decide upon something.

I conspired to go on a ride out last night with a mate I've not seen for ages. Does this make me evil?.

The issue is that Climare change (changed from global warming so that negative and positive changes can be attributed to we're all going to die) has proven to be a real conspiracy of people getting together to obscuficate and hide and manipulate data.

The fact that they are marking their own homework, producing models that nobody else can replicate and refuse to release their data and claim it is lost when they are forced to gives significant doubt as to the validity of their claims.

In science if nobody can replicate your results then it isn't science.

Laws are introduced on the back of this flawed science that affect you and me, my conspiracy to go on a ride out yesterday affected nobody. This will severely affect the quality of your life in an adverse manner. Your electricity / gas bills already have a climate change levy, flights out have huge taxes on them.

Such taxes mean that the BRICS nations can destroy us and our living standards collaspe even further.


There is a weasle arguement in this in that well if it is proven to be untrue then we've saved loads of resources. Which is wrong because some of the green tech when you consider the entire product life cycle requires MORE energy input into an item than you will ever get out of its useful life. So you might as well have never made it in the first place.

Sure a Prius gets 60mpg but for the energy and material inputs into it you could probably make 2-3 conventional cars and be better off.
