Example pics

Note, taken just now - so low light (flash) and the photo is reduced to 20% original size.

Seems like a good deal. How long do the batteries last. We bought a cheap digi from Asda a while back and it absolutely ate batteres. Mind you, you can get 2000mah+ AA's now.

Cheap as chips and seems ok. Ideal for out on the trail, no worries of breaking it really being so cheap Thumbs Up

It is actually down priced (again) ... they still had the stand selling them for £50 (reduced for £60) ... so esentially a £60 camera for £35
Smile

Here are some more pics (again cut down - not fullsize)

The last two are in 'macro' mode.

As for battery life, not had it long enough to say much about that to be honest!!

I was looking at the second photo wondering if your rear tyre was a bit square Laughing

Also, is that a plug in the middle of the tyre?

Yep, it is no DSLR quality, but then you wouldn't really expect that would you!?!? ... it has pretty effective image stibilisation, and all sorts of other fancy stuff like face recognition etc etc ...

It is fairly compact, takes SD cards and AA batteries (so can keep a spare set in pocket - unlike cameras with internal rechargeable batteries) it takes 'reasonable' snaps (for a happy snapper) and at £35 you are not going to get to precious over it and not take it places where there is a chance it might get damaged, which is ideal for someone like me!! Cool

My only complaint is that at full resolution the images are ~6mb ea ... and of a massive image size, at full scale, the image is too large, but also not particularity good quality ... so you end up having to cut down to <=30% anyway to get the sharper picture (and an image small enough to look at on a screen) ... I wish the camera had a way of doing that itself!! Confused (perhaps I should read the instructions!?!? Laughing)

Yep, you could probably use my rear tyre as a set-square!! Laughing

It is a plug in there too ... (I purposely took a pic of that to see how it came out in the 'macro' shot).

As it runs on AA batteries, buy some 2,500 mAh rechargeable batteries and you should be able to take up to 500 pictures on a single charge. I can with my bridge camera.

Problem I have found with rechargeables is that they have a really rapid 'decay' when not in use .... :sown:

So use alkaline for stuff that isn't used frequently/a lot in one hit! Thumbs Up

The batteries I'm using are nearly 4 years old and prior to being used in my camera, were used in my remote control car which wasn't used very often.

And you can get 8 AA 2500 mAh batteries for £3.42.

I have about 12 proper 'Energizer' NiMH 2500s and although plenty of punch when just charged, even from new, they have never been good at holding charge for periods >1 week!!! Thumbs Down

As I said, I have about a dozzen of them, so it is not like I just got a couple of dodgy ones Sad

The Duracell Alkaline are just the job as far as I am concerned and you don't have to worry about them going off if 'left' for several weeks/months Smile

Was just going to buy it, then saw they wanted £6 to post it.

Bugger right off. But, do they sell them in stores? We have a big one in town I might mozey down to.

This is actually perfect for me right now Thumbs Up My old camera died, and I'm off to Thailand in a fortnight, and I refuse to spend more then £50 on anything.

One question though, does it record videos? For no specific reason of course Shifty

From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule...

Aye, went in today. Out of stock at the moment Sad Will go down again on Tuesday.

Had other cameras there for £23 Thinking But this one looks better.

I saw a 'play' button, so I'm assuming it does vids. Fancy doing a sample vid for me. Say, inside with low lighting Wink

Shame! Sad A £60 camera for £35 is a billy bargain, a £23 camera for £23 is not so likely to be one!! Wink

Yes it does do video (with sound) and no, I am not going to make one of me on the job and post it up!! Laughing
