Hey, I've literally made a ridiculous number of threads in such a time period in this forum, heh.

Went to take chain off and start the bike this morning, and it just wouldn't catch. With or without choke, on both the electric and kick.

So tried to bump it in second, still no luck.

Got home an hour or so ago, and it started up straight away on the electric. It was rebuilt 25miles or so ago, and has been sweet since - bar this iffy moment this morning.

Any suggestions as to what it is? I know it was cold last night/this morning, but not especially extreme.

Happened again this morning, seems to be temperature related. I have no ideas whatsoever. It might be my starting technique, but it wasn't bumping and there was no sign of life with or without clutch.

What bike is it?

A good technique is thus:

ignition off, choke off, fuel on
two kicks

ignition on, choke on, fuel on
kick

and it should start.

It's an obscure Austrian/chink thing, Generic Trigger SM50.

By fuel do you mean throttle or just the switch? Thanks - I'll give it a go tomorrow morning Smile.
