Hi, went for a blast on the CBR last night, got stopped by police (routine check) absolutely no problems at all, bike was running fine.

When I was allowed to go I tried to start the bike and it refused, I assumed it might just be playing up because I was trying to start it so soon after shutting it down. I was literally at my dads drive so went in for a cup of tea and to pick some DVD's up, went out to the bike put 2 dvds in the underseat storage and it still refused to start, by this time it was stone cold so should have started.

Today I charged the battery, changed the plugs (which were dry and tan coloured) and still nothing. I tried to get a spark from the right most cylinder and had nothing, so wondering if I knocked the CDI when I put the DVD's in.

The plugs were dry, which leads me to think the fuel pump isn't pumping, and theres no spark, is there a common relay for the two or something that may have blown, and if so how would I check it?

checked the ignition fuse and thats fine, plenty of fuel, breather is fine and theres power there as the lights and everything come on.

you can connect the pump to the battery and put in a switch to get you going in the meantime.

The fuel pump is turned on by a relay, oerated by the ignitor i belive.

Seems like the fuelling isn't the problem, there's no spark from any of the plugs, not even a blip.

not sure why though, the fuse on the left by the forks is fine, the cdi has no broken or chaffed wires, I'm really stuck for what to do now =/

not sure if its CDI or TCI, but if your ignition is TCI, with the ignition turned ON with the machine not running, you should be able to measure a voltage from the positive terminal of the coils to earth.

something to check.
