XT350, fixed and for sale!!

My XT350 which has been a first time starter up until last week will now not fire. It's got to be electrical as it's not getting a spark.

I had a similar issue a while ago and traced it to a broken connector and it ran fine ever since until now. It's definitely not the same wire again as the connector is spot on now (I put a new OE spec spade connector into the connector block.)

If I jiggle the wires behind the clocks and ignition switch the neutral light flickers on and off so it seems likely there's a loose connection in there somewhere but I can't see anything obvious.

Question is do I sell it as a non-runner or try to fix it? Also, the MOT is due or has just run out. Even if I can get it to the garage to get a new one can it pass without running? I was offered £700 for it not long ago as a runner, what would it be worth as a non-runner with no MOT?

If I was settled somewhere I would keep it and try to sort it but I'm doing a postgrad course through work and keep having to move to different locations so I can't keep a non-running bike!

Fix it, on the HUBB somebody has a schematic to build your own CDI (if that is the problem) for £10.

Trouble is I'm moving again in a few weeks and have no means to transport it.

I've no idea if the CDI is the problem and frankly I don't have a lot of time to spend looking at it at the moment.

It's weird that it just died overnight without any external input. The broken wire last time was a result of me taking the camshaft cover off to do the shims and accidentally tugging it (didn't realise that at the time).

Got it going again...it was corrosion in the connector block coming out of the ignition switch I knew it would be something painfully simple.

Very glad I didn't sell it as a non-runner now but it might still be up for sale after I get it MOTed.
