I can't say if it's safe to drive or not without having a look. I'd be more worried abut the whel bearings than the fork seal. You can tie a rag around the fork to catch the oil to get you here. Just take it easy i guess. If you have to wait for parts or we can't finish the job in one day for some reason, I can give you a lift home but the reason I would prefer to do it here is that I can run the forks up to my mates garage to get them pulled apart. You got all the parts? How about a workshop manual? Allways usefull for torque settings etc.

hi, i am waiting for the fork seals to turn up. i have ordered new oil and dust seals. i already have the sprocket bearing, cush rubbers and rear wheel bearings. unfortunately i do not have a haynes manual. what days do you work ??? when would you be able to do it ?? from lets say weds on should have the parts by then Very Happy

You need to get the front end off the ground to get at the forks. It's still possible without stand(s) but a lot more faffing about and more effort required.

typical just my luck, are you still willing to do it for me ?

If you're keeping this bike, a decent front stand would be a good investment.
