AWD

Is All Wheel Drive realy the fucher of off roading, Christini are doing some amazing things. Has anyone ever had the privaling to ride an AWD? Whats it like?

Haven't ridden one, but I believe the consensus was that it may not offer much for a really skilled rider, but for mid level and novices it can get you out of a lot of sticky situations.
However if those riders don't get themselves in to such situations, can also have some disadvantages.

It'd be very interesting to try regardless.

Agreed, there would be some situations were AWD would be an advantage but alot of the time you realy need the power in the real wheel if you nead to get the front up.

Yes, but not with Christini as it works like a lot of car systems, feeding power in as needed.

When was the 2trac WR450F on seen? didnt really make much of a hit

as far as i can think back, iv'e only really seen 1 pro see results with AWD, and that was Geoff Aaron on a KTM 300 at a round of endurocross of which i cant remember.

i dont think it would feel right with all that sorta "bite" up-front , then again i guess the front would stay planted

What G says bout the Christini is right, the system wrosk by taking a drive from the engine the the front wheel, however the front wheel has a clutch which stops the power being transmitted while the rear wheel is propelling the bike, as soon as the rear loses traction the front engages and pulls the bike forward.

There are a few systems out there and they all look like they have certain advantages however, as said above there haven't been many pro results, as most modern dirt bikes are very capable to do alot in the hands of a good rider, even with only single wheel drive.
