Hey all, just back from Tescos and got a double air-bed and a pump for £10 each.

The bed folds up tidy enough, the pump is tiny, inflated the bed in about 5 minutes, it has a 3 pin plug and a car ciggy lighter adapter.

All in all pretty good value, I was for putting a ciggy lighter on the bike for sat-nav, and the bed doesn't really take up any more room than a roll mat.

Just thought I'd let you all know, pretty good buy imo.

How deep is it ?...

Mines only shallow and it's doing my back in on colder rallies, so I'm after another one...

Pretty sure that's how deep my current double is, my single is just a little deeper than that and it's bang on but I roll off it in the night...

They do have more expensive ones from campingaz and another even dearer one, but I thought that the cheep as chips Tesco value airbed would be better than a roll mat lol

Argos do a few, I think they do one that's about 40/45 cm deep, it all depends on the weight though tbh...

Most uncomfortable things in the world them, I know it's slightly more comfortable than sleeping on the floor but only just, it's a strange sensation trying to sleep on them beds.

Well I've my room tidied and packed up (moving home from uni), so there's plenty of space on the floor to get this bed out and slept on tonight to test it. I'm about 11 stone and 6 foot-ish, and prefare to sleep on my back.

I'll let you know how nice/comfy it is to sleep on tomorow. - Also I have a bad back, so we will see how it fairs on the airbed.

Sound... Thumbs Up

Easiest way I've found of sorting my back out is a few nights on the floor, fold over a quilt and sleep on that...

Touch wood it hasn't given me any jip for a while...

Air beds draw in the cold from the ground. So these are okay for use inside, but I would never have one for camping outside.

My single's got flock(?) on the top and I've used it on cold rallies and you don't get the cold drawing through as with air beds without... Thumbs Up

Although I have been toying with the idea of a light weight fold out camp bed now I've got the Ventura rack on...

Ok, so I slept on it last night, just about managed to squeeze it between my bed and radiator.

Felt different to a normal matteress, very comfy though. There's a layer of material like fake velvet on the top which helps to keep a blanket in place, very good, the blanket hadn't moved at all during the night. The bed did seem to be a little softer this morning though, just when I was sitting on the edge of it to get up, it felt a little soft.

All in all a good sleep, and my backs fine. Its very supportive and I can sleep on my side without feeling like I'm falling through the thing to the floor.

I'm very happy with it indeed.

Thumbs Up

That'll be the flock/flocking, also helps to keep away the cold that the air bed draws up through it during camping... Thumbs Up

Although only some of the cold. To keep the cold away completely use a picnic blanket underneath...or a metallic blanket. Thumbs Up

My trouble is I feel the cold. I think it's due to my duff liver. Middle of summer, at a rally, I'll be wearing about 7 or 8 layers during the course of the evening!!! You would think I look like Michelin man but apparently I couldn't look fat if I tried...hey! Cool

It's hit and miss with me, sometimes I feel the cold for a night then I'm ok the next few or I don't feel it at all and sleep soundly...

Worse one I've done to date was the Cirencester one last December, the temp dropped that low during the night when I got out early in the morning the flap folded in half due to the thick layer of frost...
