The Road. Watched this a few weeks back. Thought it was a very good film, it's a post-apocalyptic drama but without all the action & special effects. I actually enjoyed it more then most others.

Definitely give it a watch.

It's out on Blu-Ray now. Thumbs Up

How does it compare to the book?

Been meaning to watch the film of no country aswell. I can't see it translating well to the screen though!

Not read the book, but like most movies, i doubt it'd be as good.
No Country For Old Men i a superb film. Smile

Definitely give 'There Will Be Blood' a watch if you haven't seen it.

That's what i liked about it (not that it was boring) but because not a lot happens & i found it much more effective then most Hollywood CGI filled post-apocalyptic movies. Not to say it doesn't have it's fair share of good scenes, i found the pace of the movie very good.

before i watched it i read that it's not an action movie nor is it fast paced & i wasn't expecting to enjoy it but was surprised.

So avoid if you're after a Mad Max type film. Wink

The film was okay but felt it could have been a lot better in terms of having a wee bit more action. You have to be in the mood for it, that's for sure.

Definately gets the message of despair and suffering across.

After the apocalypse in the road there are no teams of cool dudes in leather and armour roaming the place. Instead everyone is basically reduced to tramps/hobo's pushing trolleys with a few possesions.....

Geez that looks worse than the setting of the fallout games!

Ideas to what apocalypse it was in the road? He goes on about " a bright flash followed by a series of concussions" so I'm going for nukes of some kind.

I would rather watch No country for old men. Awesome film. Bit slow to begin with but you can feel the suspense building up.
