Well excitedzors. Loving the analysis of the trailer aswell.

There has to be more info knocking about.

EDIT: Just read the internet. Yes all of it.

Apparantly it's going to be like assassins creed in the sense that you have no memory and the doctor is doing crazy science on you and you have flashbacks. The game play will be the flashbacks.

Wonder what online will be like.

This ones from Treyarch, Infinity ward did the last one.

They tack it in turns to release a new game, so work on a 2 year cycle.

Currently IW are working on MW3 but now there is a 3rd company possibly working on a 3rd person RPG Call of duty.

Dedicated server - A stand alone computer thats soley used for hosting multiplayer matches. Unlike MW2 a server hosts the match, this server has very high bandwidth so lag is greatly reduced. Its always running too so you can return to the same server again and again if its a good one. People rent servers from companies and put their own games on them, which means they can alos customize settings, add mods, new maps, add messages etc.

None dedicated - The host is picked from the players playing the game on the fly, normally based on ping. As the host is always different and connected to real peoples internet connections its not the most reliable.

If you look through the thread I've talked a few times about ping/lag/hosts

Generally dedicated servers are the best way to go, as it means there's no specific advantage given to anyone (e.g. no host advantage).

It should put a stop to any/most of the cheating as well.

I was worrying a bit when luke said people could add mods and customise settings. The first though that went into my head was that people would just cheat and make like 1ft characters to hide in grass.

Ermm, yes it would, although does depend on the server admin.

From a console point of view it would as only the server would be able to make changes to the game configuration files (look at bad company for example, no modded lobbies, no prestige hacks etc..), which just leaves any programming glitches (which would need a developer patch)

E.g. no more JTAG'ers messing around with the console games.

Only thing you can't prevent will be boosters, but strictly speaking their not cheating, just not playing the game in the spirit it was meant to be played.

Have mw2 boosters not been banned for doing this. I'm sure I've read on xbox forums about people bitching because they were banned for nuke and/or shield boosting.

Afraid not, just seems to be the people who are organising the 10th Prestige lobbys are the ones getting banned.

About the best you can do at the moment is hunt them down in game, and make them quit out.

The deliveries on MW2 were weird because there was a proposed postal strike due on the day of release so some people were getting it 3 or 4 days before.
