National Motorcycle Museum, have you been?

I am thinking of going to the National Motorcycle Museum (Birmingham) during the coming week and wondered if any of you guys have been? Is it worth a trip? I'd also love to know if they have a restaraunt and gift-shop?

Great place if your into older bikes. Easy to find and loads of parking. It does have a gift shop and a restaurant. Costs about £7 to get in.

Hi mate, i went last year, and i loved it.

Its pretty much all old brit bikes, although there are a few newer ones too.
I could easily spend a day there ogling the old beasts, they are all immaculate.
There is a gift shop and restaurant

I found the displays were very static and crowded, in the sense that its hundreds of bikes piled into a room. Was interesting but not the greatest thing ever. The restaurant was fairly pricey and I wasn't impressed by it but the gift shop was good. It's worth a look but needs improving imo.

If you are ever in Matlock Bath (as a biker you should pay a visit) then the Motorbike museum down the road in Bakewell is worth a look.

Agree with Fisty, the place in Bakewell is a good place to visit, very cosy! Just watch the opening times, they are very limited.

the guys off motovlog.com went, and fom the videos the guys made it looks like a nice place, but the only bad thing is that the bikes are all lines up lengthways, and there are no walkway bits between them in places, so you can only really admire the front bike....

Well, we went to the NMM and I must say its better and bigger than I expected. Would recommend it to anyone with an interest in vintage and classic British motorcycles. Set aside a good few hours to see everything properly. The food in the restaurant is excellent too.
