Well here we go, Just a quick how do as im a total newb on the bike front.

Im 28 and have been thinking about doing my CBT followed by Direct access for a good while now, until i went out and bought myself a lancer evo it went straight out the window.

Anyways, after spending hours and hours re- painting and playing with it for some goon to go straight into the back of it while parked up i've totally lost interest in the car and car scene now. Ive been at it since being about 17...

So, Yesterday I rang a riding school and spoke to a lovely woman and have now booked myself in for my CBT for next sunday. And I really cannot wait...

As usual "from what i've been reading" the 125 vs 500/600cc bike has come into play but I think it would be a waste of cash buying a 125 and instead I've decided to go for a 600cc bike and take my time learning on that. I think im going to get myself onto some track days and get used to the feel of the bike at speed in a safer enviroment "we all have to start somewhere" and just take my time on the road so i dont end up as another statistic.

Welcome! You've got your facts together more than a lot of new riders. Best advice for choosing bikes is to go to a good dealer and sit on them. No point getting a CBR600RR if you're scrunched up and it's killing your wrists after 10 minutes.

Sorry to hear about your Evo, that's a tragedy, someone did the same thing to my parked Celica the other week and then just buggered off rather than face up to what they'd done.

cheers mate, The evo is a light repair, a new rear bumper and pull will sort it tbh but its still 3k's worth of damage... bleh. I hope you manage to sort out your celica without too much costs some people are bellends. . .

What I did plan todo today was visit a couple of bike shops near me and do exaclty that, and get as much info as I could, but with it being a bank holiday monday they are closed. So i'll wait till saturday now.
