Serious question, what's so good about the Wankel? I've never driven anything with a rotary engine, but as far as I know they are unreliable and drink fuel, so what's the advantage over a piston engine?

Dunno if you have ever heard of mallys scrappy in haydock but not to long back they had a rover 800(i think) with the v8 in it. Was having a good look round it looked fuckin huge and inspiring and and had me thinking would it fit in my 25 engine bay HAHA .

Unfortunately when i asked about it he said it all has to be destroyed no parts can be reused.....something to do with the insurance company who had brought it. Dunno why it wasnt in to bad nick the engine worked fine.


He drove it to the crane as i went to salvage some bits (sounded beasty as hell) When i had finished he had drained it of fuel n oil.
He then smashed the roof in with the crane and stuck it in the crusher.
Made me feel kinda helpless

it uses a sliding piston and rotary valve as intake and exhaust instead of spring loaded valves
