Well I,ve been riding again for over a year (car driver as well ) and I'm thinking I'm just gonna do mod 1 & 2 on my own bike and settle for a restricted licence for the two years. I'm not bothered about a ultra fast bike, it will be cheaper to do, the bike I really want is a fazer which you guys have said restricts well and is like a new bike again when restrictors are taken out. Is there any benefit in taking lessons for mod 1 considering its only £15 a pop, im confident about mod 2 as I do all life savers as a matter of routine and have good road sence since I've been driving over 30 years. Passed the bike theory on Friday so now looking at the mod 1 and the best way forward. All opinions greatly appreciated.

If you're that confident why not just do DAS and avoid all the faff of getting restrictors fitted?

I would advise you to do the DAS as well, 33bhp gets very boring very quickly. Thumbs Up

At the end of the day it is entirely your choice, if you want to do the restricted route then thats your choice. I'm guessing the reason for this is because you only have a 125 you cant do your DAS unless you do your test with a riding school and use one of their 500's? therefor being more expensive?

I would however recommend training for your mod1, if your school do practice with the speed sensor thingy (This took me 2 attempts before i decided to change schools to one that did have access to the equipment) I'm sure there's plenty of people that have done it without but personally thats the only problem i had with the test.

Thanks guys, I've found a school which is offering a 3 day DAS course for £345 which I think is a fair price and affordable if I wait another two months. I dont think 2 months will kill me to wait and as pointed out will save messing around with restriction so thats it mind made up.
