Going to italy on my bike - wearing hood jeans...?

What do people think to this idea? im going to italy in a few weeks and the leathers i have arnt that comfy but my hood jeans are, they have the padding at the knees and hips. This would be ok for this long journey right?
Thoughts and advice welcome - its my first bike trip.

They should be fine as long as it doesn't rain, just pack some waterproofs also Thumbs Up

Whats the problem?

I wore standard Jeans no fancy kevlar jeans all the way to Korea on my big trip, no protection at all, granted I gashed me leg open outside Sochi, but that's just a minor hazard.

I used Draggin jeans when I went on my trip. As above, take some waterproofs to go over the top, job's a guddun... Thumbs Up

Great Jeans and a good helpfull company.
The more comfortable you are the better your riding will be.
I have worn Hood jeans on my last 2 long tours in europe and have found them excellent.
Going on a 3 day trip tomorrow to Wales and looking at the weather, its looking okay so will wear my jeans tomorrow.

Depends on the temperature.

Wore a pair of kevlar lined jeans in 32C plus heat in the Dordogne a few years back ,and ended up wearing my vented Hein Gerike Tour goretex trousers as they stayed cooler.

Found the combination of the heat and the knitted kevlar against my legs made me really sweaty. It took two days for the jeans to dry out, but I could take the goretex ones off turn them inside out and any perspiration inside dried off in minutes.

It's up to you but take waterproofs and expect to get sweaty if it is the usual warm continental summer rain.

Leathers are ok but ultimately it comes down to personal preference.
I wouldn't want to be wearing full leathers in 40 degrees plus - especially if you stop somewhere pretty and decide to take a walk.
Fabric is cooler, can be covered with waterproof suits easier and if it does get wet it dries quicker.
