Codeine

right i have co-codamol 8/500mg and some nurofen plus which is 200/12.8

I'm taking co-codamol at the moment, and its numbing the pain a fair bit, but its not completely gone...
which of the two is stronger?
and what would happen if i took 2 of each?

Ask for some 30/500 Co-Codamols.

That's what they gave me for a broken finger, took the edge off.

Coedine bungs you up though, so if you take them for more than a day or two expect to be churning out rock-hard logs.

After my crash I was on coedine or worse for months, I had to use boiling water and a big f*** off screwdriver to flush my loo on more than one occasion!

Well if you wanna know which has more codeine in, that'll be the nurofen with 12.8mg versus 8mg in the co-codomol.

You can take paracetamol and nurofen together, but I dont know what the safe limit is for codeine, and as these products both contain it, you should have a quick google...

Taking 2 of each would give you 1g of paracetamol, 400mg ibuprofen and 41.6mg of codeine..

Just checked, I've got 120 of 8/500 and 80 of 10/500 Co-Co's, plus the Ibuprofens...

Never seen the 30/500s though...

Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory and reduces swelling.

Co-Codamol is purely for pain relief and can if your doc allows depending on any medical problems be taken along side the Ibuprofen.

However do not take other paracetamol medication at the same time as co-codamol (including things like Lemsip) as that is bad mmkayyy.

For me ibuprofen was better than co-codamol but it varies from person to person.

Oh, and codine is well known for bunging the bung hole up if taken for extended periods.

Codeine is also habit forming, so don't get too used to them.

If you're taking 24mg of codeine, I'd pop in past the chemist for a bottle of syrup of figs tomorrow. You're going to need it.

just realised I've had 4g of paracetamol today.... will have to wait till tomorrow morning now

I read you need to take about 120g of codeine to feel any kind of high 40g wont do much then...

Dunno if you can buy them over the counter, but I got prescribed 'dihydrocodeine' tablets which are just 30mg of codeine with no paracetamol.... seemed to work well and could take quite a few. (dont remember having solid shits either lol)

Some ethnic gentlemen in America have coined "Purple Drank" for this stuff, get codiene cough mix, with a couple of Jolly Rancher sweets, and some Sprite.

Becareful with tramadol - I got unknowingly addicted to it.
Didn't realise I was until I stopped taking the tablet before bed (had cut down from eight a day and pain wasn't any worse for it).
Despite a couple of sleeping pills, was all itchy, shivers, etc - ended up having to go to half, then a quarter of a tablet etc to ween myself off it even more gently!

well i took 2 co-codamol and 2 nurofen plus first thing in the morning... then fainted. head still feels funny 4 hours later so wont be trying that again. Looks like i might buy some tramadol
(should only be on it for a few days, a week max, so not too worried about addiction)

when i slipped a disc, i was on

3 x diclfenac
3x diazipan 5mg
8 x tramadol
8 x cocodemol 30/500
4 x 200mg ibruprofen

just about stopped the pain.. lovely stuff, my prescription came to just shy of 30 quid !!
