right any1 care to give me some advise on what to buy what not to buy. mitaka piston kits any good? where can i get a full gasket set for a tzr 125 ebay currently no have non is it worth changing crank seal for peice of mind and bearing etc how can i check origionals to c if they have any life left in them?

Mitaka pistons are good, Replace the small end bering while you have the barrel off £5 ish.

Put a rag in the crank case while the barrel is off. Mines a 250 and fortunately I have no trouble getting gasket sets from Fleabay

are normal vaniers acurate enough to mesure my piston? im getting a reading of about 56.4mm which is the standard size for my bike im just nervous of ordering a new piston going on tht mesurement because i no digital 1nz are more precise. i cant afford to order the wrong piston as i need the bike for work. im getting a exact mesurment of 56.4mm fom the cylinder and a messurment of 55.9 from the piston (i think there abouts) so im guessing that i need a standard piston. will oversized piston have the size stamped on the top?

yeah if its over sized it should have a mark on the top of the piston, right at the front, if its 0.25mm over then it will have 25 written on it ect ect

ive just bought a piston i was given a number of a chao by the main kawasaki shop near me. when i gets there it yurn out he is the chief engine build-er for p.e.p racing and guess what bikes they race? tzr 125 an 250 and they have won the championship 3 yrs running back to the story tho i got chatting to him and he told me any problems ring him any parts needed ring him he get them 60% cheaper than i could. i took my barrel over there just for him to have a look and he has took it off me hes going to 'hone' it for me so the pistons a perfect fit and he told me my power valve is set wrong which is why it was spluttering hes going to set that for me too. ive got to pick it up after ive finished work tomoz as i work in the same town as his shop. oh yh payed £33 for exactly the same piston kit they use in there races and never have problems. his teams lates race is on at 10.00 tonight on men an motor or 1 of them channels might b havin a looky i recon. an to top it all off i started a new job today and there going to send me bak to college.
all i need now is for my gasket set which i orderd tueds of flea bay to turn up an i can re-build my bike this weekend

ok re-built my bike started 1st time sound awsome exept for a 'tapping' noise coming from the head. now just to clarify piston is definatly in the right way. new geudeon pin circlip are in right. piston fitted the bore perfect. i checked the bearings before i re-built her they were fine. is this noise just the piston 'beding in' or should i worry?

this is my bike by the way. (lights no longer wonky)

I'm glad your going back to college, otherwise I'll need to employ Collossus to decode that shit you try to pass off as English.

The ticking noise could be from the exhaust if it's leaking a bit at the head end. The fix is a new exhaust gasket.
